Happy Charlie Brown Thanksgiving to all who celebrate
Still from "A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving." Lucy holds a football for Charlie Brown, who is going to try to kick it, but be thwarted by Lucy pulling it away. In the foreground, I'm holding a plate with toast, jelly beans, popcorn, pretzels, and an ice cream sundae.

The shuttering of the Institute of Museum and Library Services is going to wreck a lot of existing resources that see heavy use from library patrons. Below is just PA - this is happening in every state. saveimls.org

Stringer Bell would never
Still from "The Wire." A Black man in a red polo shirt looks incredulous. Caption text reads "Is you making war plans on a Signal fucking group chat?" Which is a bastardization of the original line "Is you taking notes on a criminal fucking conspiracy?"

Which, when you think about it, is basically the same thing.

All their merch goes on sale today. I'm guessing there were a bunch of people in a warehouse last night frantically working seam rippers

Fans will get their first look at Oyster Catcher merchandise starting on Saturday, March 22 at the Baysox FREE Family Fun Fest at Prince George’s Stadium. Fans interested in attending can claim their FREE tickets to the event."

Post a perfect album from the '90s.
Cover of Imperial Teen's debut album Seasick.

Album cover has a solid block of yellow on the top two-thirds of the image, with a sky blue block in the bottom separated by a pink stripe. A horizontal navy blue stripe spans the image near the top, with the band's name in white text. The bottom quadrant of the image has a circular photo of a dolphin, with the album title in the bottom corner.

Peep the first recommended article after this travesty of a publisher's note. Spineless.

HEY NOW
Screenshot of Nanette's blog post:
"This is exactly the kind of Decemberists/Mountain Goats/erudite, yet self-deprecating stuff that people in library school would gravitate to back in the early 2000s. All the grad students in their 20s were trying to show off how smart and interesting we were. Things have changed a bit in the last 25 years since librarianship has become a “cool” career and we’re touted as “defenders of democracy” and stuff but back then it was pretty niche career choice and we were all trying to out-nerd each other with our awkward bookishness and our niche interests and our cool taste in music. If you were there, you know."

To wit:
Text from Wikipedia entry about the recording of Dogs:

Nastasia recorded the album at Electrical Audio in Chicago under producer and engineer Steve Albini; Albini later described it as one of the albums he is the most proud of, as well as one of his personal favorites:

"In the process of making a record, you hear it so many times that the charms of even the best of them can wear off through over-exposure. On rare occasions, records I've worked on have withstood this scrutiny and ended up being personal favorites. Nina Nastasia's 'Dogs' is a record so simultaneously unassuming and grandiose that I can't really describe it, except in terms that would make it (and me) sound silly. Of the couple thousand records I've been involved with, this is one of my favourites, and one that I'm proud to be associated with."

Don't forget the kicker: "will you chip in?"
Text from Harris-Walz fundraising email: "Here's the deal, Toby: We can’t go back. We can’t go back to the way we all felt on that harrowing day in 2016 when Donald Trump was elected. Or how we felt throughout his chaotic and corrupt administration.

This team has a direct role in making sure we win. That’s why I’m asking:

Will you chip in [pun very clearly intended] $25 or more now to my campaign? So much is at stake in this race, and we cannot defeat Donald Trump without you."
