And I will not elaborate because I would be spoiling a good chunk of interesting lore and plot twists that unfortunately only make sense on a first glance if you come from playing the original game and know what's going on. All I'll say is that I love how meta the narrative becomes.

After replaying the main story of Dragon's Dogma 2 (real ending and all) as a refresher before fully delving into the DLC, I do believe that it is a solid story and the only flaw is that the entire big explanation is hidden behind dozens of hours of gameplay.

Third Strike is a game that came out as its own thing. No online, no internet as we know it today, no nothing. It was the early days and it was easy to build a community back then. Meanwhile any game releasing nowadays has to compete with everything that came before.

I mean, that's expected if you make enemies hover around the player level. You'll never find anything that is too easy to kill even if you go back to earlier sections of the map.

If you want your experience to not get stale and be able to find matches quickly, yes, you want to attract new players that will want to stick around. Otherwise you'll end up reaching a point where you'll have to arrange matchmaking sessions or dedicated days like what has happened to Deceive Inc.

The main problem is that fighting games are very niche, even the successful ones. So I don't know what they were expecting to get out of 2XKO but it was clear from the start that it wasn't going to do the numbers that LoL does.

It's the times we live in, though. Too many live services, too little time and money. Players will stick with the games they already know because sunk cost fallacy is a thing that exists, and because there's always the fear of a game being cancelled right after you started playing it.

Not gonna lie, Riot quietly killing Legends of Runeterra and now 2XKO is a big shame. Both games are good on their own right but the executives want the same big numbers as League of Legend has, and they forget that LoL has a decade on its shoulders and Rome wasn't built in a day.

Base game is still the same, and they haven't changed enemy locations or behaviour that much (Hard Mode is supposed to make them more aggressive and give them more poise). For DD3, I'd love if they just make it so enemies scale with the player in order to keep the content engaging.

I honestly prefer DD2 over the first one, mostly because of the combat and how the map feels more alive now. The DLC is beating my ass because I decided to enable Hard Mode right away, though...

It should terrify you because if they can reverse engineer recent videogames and mix and match the code between them, it's clear that more important stuff like banks and governments are very vulnerable since they use really old systems.
