The Origins (1908-1910)
In 1908, 15,000 women marched through New York City demanding better pay, shorter hours, and voting rights. Inspired by these protests,
German socialist Clara Zetkin proposed an International Women's Day at the
1910 Socialist Women's Conference in Copenhagen. The goal? A global day for working-class women to organize and fight for their rights.

The First Official IWD (1911)
On March 19, 1911, more than a million people across Austria, Denmark, Germany, and Switzerland took to the streets for the first-ever International Women's Day. They fought for workers' rights, suffrage, and an end to gender oppression - setting the stage for decades of activism.

Women, War & Revolution (1917)
On March 8, 1917, women workers in Petrograd, Russia went on strike against war, food shortages, and brutal working conditions. Their uprising led to the abdication of the Tsar and the Russian Revolution. The Soviet Union later made March 8 an official holiday, cementing it as a day of radical change.

Your First Firearms: A Guide 🧵

If you've looked around our account, you may have found a comic covering how to purchase a firearm through an FFL.
But, with a multitude of options to choose from, it's not always easy for someone newer to firearms to work out what should be considered as quality options for their given use case.

As a first purchase for concealed carry, we point new shooters towards the Glock 19. The model is widely accessable, has proven itself as reliable over it's lifespan, has a wide array of aftermarket support for critical supplimental accessories (holsters, magazines and weapon mounted lights), and is easy for a new shooter to both get accustomed to and maintain.

For the new shooter looking for a rifle option, we recommend acquiring an AR-15. There is no shortage of brands that will work within a given budget, and the modularity of the platform allows users to upgrade as desired over time. We recommend a new shooter keep it simple, and go with a 16 inch, free-floating barrel option, with either a mid length or carbine length gas system, and either picatinny or m-lok rails.
These configurations will help ensure support for accessories, such as a mounted light (vital for home defense - remember, one of the rules of firearm safety is being able to identify your target and what is beyond it), an optic, a sling, and offer a reliable shooting experience.
