❌ MYTH: If your yard is green, your home is protected from wildfire. ✅ FACT: Green grass helps, but it's only one piece of the puzzle. Trees, fences, and even leaves in your gutters can carry fire to your home. Remove dead leaves. Trim branches and keep driveways clear for emergency vehicles.

The National Weather Service in Reno has issued a Red Flag Warning, which is in effect from 2 PM to 9 PM today, Friday, June 10. The combination of gusty winds and dry fuels can cause fire to rapidly grow in size and intensity before firefighters can contain them.

⚠️Fireworks are illegal in Washoe County. The penalty for possessing or using fireworks of any kind can be a fine up to $1,000.00 and up to 6 months in jail for each misdemeanor conviction, including parents of juveniles.
