RCAF CF-18 Demo Jet from 2022 during the Cold Lake Air Show in Alberta. I was pleasantly surprised to see that in 2026, this jet still has its painted wings. I wonder how many other demo jets have had a multi-year paint?

Because sometimes the image looks better when the jet isn't the full picture. The CF-18 takeoff during the Aero Gatineau-Ottawa twilight show was something special with that sky in the background. Beautiful pastel colours.

A glimpse of the future at today's Aero Gatineau-Ottawa with the CT-157 Siskin II joining the Canadian Forces Snowbirds CT-114 Tutors for a couple formation passes. The CT-157 Siskin II may be the replacement aircraft for the Snowbirds demonstration team.

A little bit of humidity never hurt anyone, so here is a RCAF CF-18 Hornet with everything dangling out on a wet day at Airshow London, creating wingtip vortices even while flying slow. One distinguishing feature from Canadian CF-18s vs. other F-18s is the spotlight at the front, lit up here.

Today's Total Solar Eclipse has me looking at space themed jets, so here is a quarter of my favourite NASA catches - the DC-8, SOFIA Telescope, F-15B, F-18B, and Gulfstream GIII from NASA's Armstrong Flight Research Center.

Twilight RCAF CH-146 Griffon #146469 at the 2026 Barrie Airshow. The fading light made for a pastel yellow sky, just as the sun had set at ground level, but not yet in the sky where high level clouds were still showing some colour.

It's a late #warbirdwednesday post with warbirds at the end of the day - Victory Flight Hawker Hurricane, P-51D Mustang, and Spitfire fly in formation at the 2026 Barrie Airshow as the last rays of light hit the warbirds before dark. Nearby storms resulted in some moody clouds to add to the effect.
