If at first you don't succeed, try, try, try, try, try, try and once more, try again.

Looking forward to playing the LABR game with you this year, Rudy. It does come fast. Two slow drafts on the go, with CERF yesterday and tonight's draft. Long way between picks for you tonight. Have fun with it!

Looking forward to drafting with this great group this evening.

At least you escaped a hit in the XFL, Jason.

A bucket of beans sounds so 70'ish.

Tim McLeod @tlmcleod.bsky.social · 17/02/2026

It doesn't sound so drastic if you use KG. Not quite 20 of them.

Back to take a look at some of my Canadian music roots and one of my favourite bands from Winterpeg. Great guitar break in this gem. www.youtube.com/watch?v=LAzP...

Thanks for the headsup. His headset/mic blew out last show and has since been replaced. Thanks for your support!

If you haven't seen or listened to Bywater Call, you really should. Powerful vocals and a tight and very talented rhythm section propels their unique blend of southern and roots rock. www.youtube.com/watch?v=30g_...

When Greg Godovitz left Fludd and struck out on his own one of the band Goddo's earliest tunes was an ode to Carole Pope of Rough Trade. These guys could really rock and many a fun night was spent listening to them do just that. www.youtube.com/watch?v=AniR...

Saga has never really earned the respect they deserve in North America, but Europe is a very different story. The guitar/keyboard timing in this gem is brilliant. www.youtube.com/watch?v=pMFc...

Thanks, Marty. I don't think you paid up taking Rocker in the 18'th. Really like his chances of outperforming that draft slot.

Tim McLeod @tlmcleod.bsky.social · 21/11/2024

Light on speed, but other than that like the effort. Just curious. When did Rocker go off the board?

Fludd was a band I saw numerous times in the early 70's. They had a string of hit singles including "Cousin Mary" and one of my favourites, "Get Up, Get Out, and Move On." Greg Godovitz left to form Goddo, while Steve Negus, Jim Crichton, and Paul Rochon formed Saga. www.youtube.com/watch?v=fPuC...

The more you do, the more that is expected, and the least it is appreciated.

I'm surprised the vote wasn't unanimous. Skenes was definitely deserving of all 30 first place votes.

The first time I saw Triumph was in a 250 seat bar in North Bay. They had just released their debut album. To this day, I've never heard a live band that was that loud. They also did a Saturday matinee where the locals could partake and jam. www.youtube.com/watch?v=PH5v...

The High School scene was a great market for emerging Canadian bands. The bar scene in large cities had limited attendance and the small arena's were simply too large to make it work. You could do a small High School tour and attract 500-to-1000 fans and get the music out there.

Rush played one of my High School dances around this same time. Musically, the early 70's was amazing. www.youtube.com/watch?v=jDkd...

I'll take Yamamoto before Roki this year with no hesitation.

Time to dust off the 'Spos cap?

There's a long lineup, but definitely Top-3 imo.

Time to continue my look at some of the Canadian bands I've seen over the years. April Wine probably tops the list for the band I've seen the most. Some good times back in the early-70's! www.youtube.com/watch?v=KMBl...
