Y'know I always thought Wonderwall was lame cause it was the "white boy with acoustic guitar" song and everyone knows it and it's corny and I should learn less lame songs. It's actually so fun to play and jam to for a beginner guitar player. Mental in shambles

I love coming back from Australia and bringing the knowledge that like every bird down there has just some insulting common name Like learning that the Australian White Ibis are just regularly called "bin chickens" because they like rummaging through garbage is great and I'm better for knowing this

I have no way of sourcing this, but when I was in an algae class in uni, I remember my prof saying that one of his colleagues in the field gave common names to a bunch of unnamed red algae in one night over several glasses of wine and that's hilarious. I need this to be true so bad.
