So Activision gets to handle Rare’s IP, which is funny because they were in the running to purchase them back when they were selling themselves from Nintendo.

These new DK and Diddy plushes being a part of the Super Mario branding has me a little concerned about when we’ll finally see Dixie and the others, but still, these will be nice to have!

New plushes of DK and Diddy that are a part of the Super Mario All Star collection.

I drew this piece back when it was announced Coyote vs. Acme had been saved by Ketchup Entertainment, and here I am posting it after having seen the movie. Congrats, Wile E. Coyote, I can’t think of a character in fiction more overdue for a victory!

$15 each for the Kirby and Bandana Waddle Dee amiibo packs instead of $50 (Target) $10 for the Switch 2 camera instead of $55 (GameStop) Patience definitely pays off.

A photo of four amiibo, Bandana Waddle Dee and Kirby outside of packaging, and those same characters within packaging. Also a Nintendo Switch 2 camera in its box.

A vendor at Too Many Games sold me this diorama of DK’s hut from Returns. It’s fun putting my smaller DK figures on it. Movie DK fits with it the best!

A shot of several different DK toys, including DK, Diddy, Dixie, Cranky, Rambi, a Returns-style palm tree, and a diorama of DK’s jungle hut from Donkey Kong Country Returns.

I’m a massive hypocrite because I completely clowned on Yooka-Laylee for giving the player this ability but hearing it’s being added to Banjo makes me really excited. It was a fun feature to play around with when having an N64 GameShark.

Donkey Kong 64 on Nintendo Switch Online: What changed? What is newly possible? What weird things have been found? After a bunch of data mining and tests from the speedrunning community, here is what we know.

Completed the Kong Bananza Returns Emerald Rush. Not as easy as I thought it’d be! Had to prioritize the Crockoid perks. It helps that there’s so many of them native to the level (so you aren’t just chasing the ones spawned in from the Goals) and that they respawn so often.

Does putting DK64 in Widescreen skip the opening cinematic?

I didn’t 100% Super Mario Bros Wonder the first time but the new Double Badges and Flower Power Up (that the levels clearly weren’t designed around) actually made going back for it pretty fun. The Dolphin Kick should really just be part of 2D Mario’s core moveset.

Rolled credits on The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. Great game! Had some fun with it in the beginning, but the latter half of the game made it one of my favorite Zeldas. Definitely the most fun I’ve had traversing the overworld and going back for Heart Pieces.

To be honest $20 isn’t enough to stop me, had this been Pokemon Emerald I’d probably budge but I’m pretty exhausted revisiting Kanto, and this isn’t even going to be a good, fully-featured way to experience the game.

One thing that’s not talked about too much with this DKCR HD update is that they changed how the reserve Barrels work Before, they came out as actual thrown barrels (so you could cheese kills in certain spots, a la DKCR 3D). Now, the Kong just automatically spawns (a la TF).

How'd I fumble #Squawktober so badly this year? Simple. It wasn't part of the plan! I struggled so much on whether to do another Squawktober or to give October to a different character this year, and midway through working on the latter, Squawks was announced for #DonkeyKongBananza.
