Probability theory is completely counterintuitive. Understanding it is the single closest thing to having a superpower in modern tech.

I turned my most popular thread into a video a couple of months ago. That was before I knew anything about animation, audio recording, and the other arts and crafts of video content. So, I decided to do it justice.

Calculus is a total waste of time. Learning it was the single best decision of my machine learning career.

I'm here to convince you learning Mathematics is actually not that hard or intimidating. I've said it many times now. I bet I can make you understand any concept. One post at a time. The way your teachers should have.

One of the mightiest tools in mathematics is the camel principle. I am dead serious. Deep down, this tiny rule is the cog in many methods. Ones that you use every day.

The single most undervalued fact of linear algebra: matrices are graphs, and graphs are matrices. Encoding matrices as graphs is a cheat code, making complex behavior simple to study. Let me show you how!

The 10 most important lessons from 20 years of doing mathematics: 1. Breaking the rules is often the best course of action 2. You have to deeply understand the rules to successfully break them 3. Understanding happens when you take things slow

Math isn't hard because the concepts are complex. It's hard because: Traditional education treats it like robotic symbol-shuffling gymnastics, forcing people to memorize formulas for years while completely forgetting about the underlying spatial intuition.

Graph theory and linear algebra are not two separate branches of mathematics. They are the exact same subject wearing different costumes.

You aren't bad at math. Math was just taught to you by people who hid its power behind convoluted formulas, abstract jargon, and soulless textbooks.

At the end of your engineering career, you won't wish you memorized 50 temporary API wrappers or chased every viral framework. You'll wish you mastered the foundational principles that built the modern world. You cannot build extraordinary AI systems with a surface-level understanding.

If your machine learning models keep failing in edge cases, you don't have a coding problem. You have a math problem disguised as a coding problem.

Most engineers spend 100 hours learning frameworks that expire in 12 months. Top engineers spend 100 hours learning math that stays true for 50 years.

If you only know how to call library functions, your value is shrinking by the minute. If you understand the underlying mathematics, AI just gave you an infinite leverage boost.

You don't need a four-year pure math degree before you can understand machine learning algorithms. You don't need to finish 5 measure theory textbooks, prove 50 calculus theorems, and solve linear algebra problem sets in isolation before writing PyTorch code.

I follow quite a few notable people who have successfully realized their vision, solving problems to move our world forward. Their audiences are full of the young and motivated, yearning to carve out their piece of the pie, failing to realize that the only path they can walk is their own.

When people discover that I have a PhD in mathematics, one of the most common reactions is, “you must be a genius.” Let me tell you, this could not be further from the truth: talent is just the icing on the cake. The rest is hard work and perseverance.

There are no shortcuts to mastery. You can’t pay your way to knowledge. You must put in the work for math and anything else that’s worth doing.

A graph is called bipartite if it is possible to find a coloring of its nodes using two colors. It can be proven that a graph is bipartite exactly when it does not contain a cycle with an odd number of edges.

LLMs are statistical bullshit generators. They are trained to say what you want to hear. Not what you need to hear. Yeah, I know, there’s reasoning, tool calling, memory, and other neat tricks. Still, fundamentally, generative models are stochastic parrots.

Most people think matrices are just grids of numbers you multiply using complex row-column rules. That’s why linear algebra feels dry and uninspired.
