Was on a cycling vacation in Switzerland recently. We were on conventional bikes, but about 3/4 of all the bikes we saw were e-bikes. Several towns featured public e-bike charging stations. One even included a selection of charging cables for popular e-bike connector types. #BikeSky

Came across a nest of bald-faced hornets today. It's about a foot wide and a foot-and-a-half high, likely home to hundreds of these hornets. (If you see such a nest, whatever you do, don't poke it with a stick. Learned that the hard way once.)

Accidents like that were one of the reasons that many industrial cutting machines today require the operator to simultaneously push two buttons, one on each side of the machine, so it's impossible to have a hand under the cutting blade.

This HAWK crossing light I encountered today is an example of why they are confusing: "Stop on red. Proceed on flashing red..." So sometimes red means stop, sometimes it doesn't If you have to post a sign instructing drivers how to interpret your crossing, the design has already failed. #BikeSky

The route isn't public (because it starts from a buddy's private home), but it had lots of dirt roads in and around Lyndon, Kirby, East Burke, and Victory. The cemetery is in the town of Kirby, at the intersection of Ridge Rd. and Kirby Mountain Rd. (a.k.a. Town Hall Rd.)
