The Tiswas team would frequently go to the Garryowen club in Sparkbrook which was a notoriously rough place. It was not an Indian restaurant. These days it does have a connection with Asia, it's now an Asian wedding venue.

Finally, we're still really enthused about this year marking 50 years since Tiswas first aired. Lots of other things being worked on, not just blogs. We're open to ideas (relatively sane ones though), so if you have thought of something, reply to this post! Hope you like my new T-shirt.

1) a little bit more of the 03/01/1981 show (our archive had a studio copy) from an off-air recording in the Anglia region. 2) We used to only have about 15 minutes of the 24/01/1981 show in a heavily edited way, we now have the last 45 minutes in full, greatly augmenting what we had.

Hi there, some interesting Tiswas news - including new discoveries of recordings - has come to light! Firstly, we've not had new blogs for the past two weeks. That's because we've been working on an intensive look at a series 2 show, it's nearly ready to publish, that should be done this weekend.

It's the Distracted Boyfriend meme, 'cos we're so up to date with social media trends. This one has the boyfriend labelled "fans of vintage children's TV", his girlfriend labelled as "Tiswas", and the woman he's appreciating labelled as "Bagpuss".
