I'm hoping the vibe coding issue backfires on companies forcing them to start to hire people again. My logic behind that is why pay for an application built with the same tools available to people at home? They reverse engineered the adobe suite. I'm hoping this will light a fire under their ass.

Can't be simply traced over or painted on top at a higher res. My solution here was relighting it with a normal map. Its not perfect, needs color adjustment and better moss coverage but its starting to look like a tree again!

I take my time with these remasters to make sure the artwork is exactly where I want it to be. I've been working on solving this single tree texture all day for twilight princess. Its one of those textures that worked in its original context but #gameart #gamedev

Photoshop is being phased out by adobe. The latest update embeds the browser based firefly editor with only prompt editing and complete absence of the traditional toolset. Normal photoshop is now under a non highlighted tab as the "Pro editor" Performance is ABYSMALL🫠

Why don't we have AI doing image compression? I just sat through a fuck ton of images manually compressing them to hit the gamebanana upload cap. its 1.5GB and the quality is pristine. Of all the tasks I'd want AI to be doing now it should be stuff like this though. 80% file size decrease!

Remastering games is great for learning. When I don't know what I'm doing I try to recreate the texture exactly as it appears. Part way through these remasters, I start designing my own. This dirt came out amazing! This is recolored cake frosting. Use more edible textures! #gameart #gamedev
