Project Runway season 22 is just so bad. We're watching each episode a week late because cliffhanger eliminations are annoying af. And I am so, so, so, so tired of the talking heads. I want to see the clothes, not people trying to do sound bites.

Bonus Doggust: by special request, a schnauzer. But not just any schnauzer: the late Professor KENT. www.instagram.com/kent_jp_schn... #Doggust #Doggust2026 #DogPortrait

Charcoal portrait of a Schnauzer named KENT. Only his head is visible. He's in three quarter view turned slightly to the viewer's right, and his eyes are gazing at the viewer.

I "met" this dog on Instagram. Well, my late dog Gozer did, because she had her own account there. KENT lived in Japan and was a young at heart pup (YAHP). Both he and Gozer were Branch Managers with Dogs Against Baths. KENT often gave lectures on different aspects of Japanese life which were always informative. He died in 2021, and I still miss him.

Fineliner portrait of a Cairn Terrier standing with its front facing the viewer, head turned slightly to the viewer's right, and its hind legs on the viewer's right. What does it see? The end of Doggust, maybe.

Doggust Day 29: Black Russian Terrier. Soft pastel on black Canson Mi-Teintes Touch sanded paper. #Doggust #Doggust2026

Soft pastel portrait of a Black Russian Terrier standing on a yellowish green field against a swirling blue sky. The dog is standing with its right side facing the viewer and is looking off in the distance. We assume the dog is looking off in the distance but its hair covers its eyes so we don't actually know. The tail is standing up so maybe the dog sees or smells something interesting.

Doggust Day 27: Löwchen. Soft pastel on Clairefontaine Pastelmat sanded paper. #Doggust #Doggust2026

Soft pastel portrait of a white Löwchen dog in its breed standard cut on an indistinct greenish-brown vaguely grassy ground. The dog has its left side mostly to the viewer and is looking directly at the viewer.

The breed standard cut involves a shaved bum and back half but very full cuffs of fur on all four legs. It isn't unlike a poodle cut.

Doggust Day 26: Belgian Laekenois. Fineliners on Strathmore 74gsm fine tooth sketch paper. #Doggust #Doggust2026

Fineliner black and white portrait of a Belgian Laekenois facing the viewer, standing in tall foliage. The dog has messy fur, and it's hard to tell where the dog ends and the foliage begins. That's probably the point of the dog, to hide like that. Call that artistic license if not.

Graphite pencil portrait of Nazgul, the Czechoslovakian Wolfdog who decided to run with the Women's Cross-country sprint skiing qualifiers at the 2026 Winter Olympics. Nazgul is running towards the viewer with a big smile.

Graphite pencil portrait of a Caucasian Shepherd dog, also known as Caucasian Ovarchka. The dog faces the viewer almost head on and appears to be smiling. This kind of huge dog breed is apparently used as guard dogs in Russian prisons. Did the artist need another reason not to find herself in a Russian prison? No. But she has one now!

Fountain pen portrait of a Kishu Ken dog with its left side in a three-quarter view to the viewer and its head tilted back a little. The dog has a slightly mischievous expression and is probably getting up to trouble, which is why the tail looks sort of black instead of white. Yup that's it, it's not because the artist made a mistake.

The nestling robins outside our door fledged today. Fly safe little birdies! These pictures were taken earlier today, before these last two fledged. As you can see they were definitely ready to go.

An American Robin nestling looking like it's fledging, but really it's just testing its wings while its nestling sibling looks on.

Seeing the Met Gala outfits makes me miss the days when I did red carpet posts on my blog. There's a lot of great clothes there this year. And yes, I know about Amazon and wealth inequality. I still love the clothes.

We once again had Robins nesting on the light in are back yard. There were 3 babies that looked ready to fledge so we setup the camera. This was not the end of the story we were expecting. Hawks need to eat too. At least the other 2 seemed to get away, although that second one did not seem ready.
