I mean. Probably not within my lifetime. Maybe. Anything is possible.

A Steve the Otter cartoon that states: “When you feel all is lost and there’s no hope left…remember the lobsters in the tank at the Titanic restaurant.”

A black sticker on a bathroom stall with white type that says “no one belongs in a cage. Abolish ice. Free everybody.”

This sign hits me every time I see it. Tonight: at a church for my kids piano recital. The last kid played “lift every voice and sing” out of the Baptist hymnal. Note: The ACMHR was founded in Birmingham by Rev Fred Shuttlesworth on June 5 1956, after the NAACP was outlawed in the state.

A rather plain looking painted concrete hallway, with a memorial sign denoting the building as an “Alabama Christian Movement for Human Rights” Mass Meeting Church.

Been traveling for work the last three weeks out of six. Thankful for privilege but tired. Want to re-ground with my friends and my family and our goofy ass dog.

A light brown poodle sitting comfortably on the brick walkway at a park. The trees in the background are in various stages of changing fall color.

Totality was worth it. Now I understand.

An image of the solar eclipse, with the obscured sun glowing a ring of fire against a black sky.
