This little comic strip of mine got lots of traction on IG. I will take that as encouragement for drawing more silly comics related to my incoming gacha baby.

Hello #KidLitArtPostcard! This is my first time, tho I have done several books at this point over the last half a decade 🙈 I love being able to play with traditional medium in my book work and have fun creating worlds! Rep’ed by Bridgette Kam at @westwoodcreative.bsky.social 🌎 elainechen.ca

#AnimalAdventuresWeek2025 Day 3 - hiding in plain sight / day 4 hatching :P Can you spot the marine bird nesting on the cliff side? I have almost simplified to one solid colour....

If I want to keep up with #animaladventuresweek2025 I cannot do full backgrounds everyday 🤣 but I can’t help it ;-; I’m a background person!! (I didn’t get a chance to get a head start, so we are drawing day by day here) Day 1

Process of setting up new studio space 🥰 First time meeting the space while the landlord is still setting up. We started dreaming of the setup immediately.

2014 vs. 2024 A corner of my apartment at the time vs. corner of Hanoi, Vietnam during the storm. Not much different.🤣 There is something to both paintings I still like. Mainly for the memories it brings me back to. This is why I love sketchbook keeping <3 PS: 2034 is just going to be a blob.

All day I have felt like I forgotten something, though I know it's nothing specific. Is there a term for this state of being?

Staring at an empty canvas, about to start the next marathon of my next children's book.

My studio space over the years! It’s funny how much of it stayed the same. You can even spot some of the same inspirations on the walls.

My first apartment corner set up and studio in the corner L shaped desk

Less set up corner just moved and references and mess

Corner table set up with inspiration on the walls

Painting set up for picture book illustration, with painters tape on board
