yesterday wife used her powers to make me go back to nature for a day. i was having a very bad crisis and she helped me drive up into the mountains. i spent the afternoon sitting on the grass next to a mountain river and watching a bunch of curious little robin fledglings jumping around me..

its weird how gender can fluctuate with age too. i definitely dont want to be a woman but i want to age as an old bulldyke, not an old guy. no matter what gender had been coercively assigned to me at birth, i know i would have ended up the same: transsexual, nonbinary lesbian. from whichever side.

oh that might be it then... not brushing/combing/detangling regularly can in fact lead to more fallout, breakage and knotting rather than less :( a gentle wide-tooth comb can help a lot. start combing at the bottom, not at the top. use conditioner/hair masks! keep it in protective hairstyles too

as an actual published childrens author i have some unsolicited advice! famously, kids hate being talked down to & can absolutely tell when the writer thinks theyre stupid. they also do not care for many of the values that adults might hold dear. but they do care about good writing.

i would really recommend white ppl look into the "right to comfort" as a characteristic of white supremacy. from "white supremacy culture" by tema okun:

"right to comfort:
