www.tiny-gaming.net/posts/combol... - COMBOLANDS is a perfect blend, a game that, somehow, manages to be a soothing, relaxing time while still having enough challenge in its systems to force your brain to sizzle here and there to make a working engine for big scoring! #indiegames

www.tiny-gaming.net/posts/the-cu... - This topic was on my mind for years, and finally decided to write about it... About a few years after it was a hot topic, of course, fashionably late! How a 7 became a 1 for AAA game rating and can it change...? #indiegames

EMBERWARD is possibly the best Tower Defense game made in past 30 years. It has it all - extreme variety of builds, cool towers, superb player agency, astonishing UI/UX bits and level of challenge for every kind of player. Packed to the brim with content to grind through with delight.

It's fantastic. If deckbuilding is your jam, you're doing yourself a disfavor not checking this one out. If EA games not your flavor, at least give it a +watch to get the full 1.0 once it hits the shelves.

www.tiny-gaming.net/posts/shelve... - SHELVES THE POTION! is yet another example of the rapidly growing Tidy Up genre, but this one is a good one! Introducing fun little puzzles to figure out, cats to pets and lovely vibe to chill with, it's a good time... for a few hours! #indiegames

www.tiny-gaming.net/posts/early-... - Two early access games got out and I am deeply engaged with both of them! SHROOM AND GLOOM is a fantastic deck-builder with awesome vibe while WANDERBURG is arcade action fun with goofy and gorgeous setting of angry strongholds! #indiegames

www.tiny-gaming.net/posts/fart-g... - Seems like WOLVERINE isn't the smashing hit SONY was hoping for. But it IS an excellent starting point to talk about something that gnaws on my mind for a while - Handholding in games; how, why and when it becomes obnoxious and insulting. #indiegames

following on from @tiny-gaming.net's article on this subject, here's are my thoughts on how new casual genres become shovelware because of an active "encouragement cycle" (and how genre trends tend to be driven by perceived demands rather than real ones) www.youtube.com/watch?v=bF6Z...

Just played the new Demo, and I did play the old one - www.tiny-gaming.net/posts/demo-d... - Cosmo Cargo is a blast, it's a supreme mix of roguelike, autobattler and inventory management. Great vibes, great style, and it's not mindlessly easy either - you CAN lose, if you don't pay attention ;)

DEMO DIVE #1 - June 2026
It is said that hell roads are paved with bricks of good intentions. I was hoping May will be the month in which I am able to flex some proper writing, play lots of games and fill the blog to the brim...

www.tiny-gaming.net/posts/how-ma... - HOW MANY DUDES? asks some important questions we all ponder about, often under a shower... Can one trillion tigers defeat the sun? But despite the fun premise and solid fun on entry, it shows its cards quickly and runs out of thrills rapidly. #indiegames

www.tiny-gaming.net/posts/exark - A mix of great ideas, all bubbling together in a gumbo of mechanics that shouldn't work, but actually do! Auto battler city builder inventory manager, all in once. It's fun, it's colorful, but runs out of steam a bit too early and feels a bit... dry. #indiegames

This kind of nonsense tells me nobody in Polygon play indie games? ESOTERIC EBB came out this year. MEWGENICS came out this year. MINA THE HOLLOWER. CAIRN. In my eyes something like GTA6 has nothing on the brilliance and fun that Esoteric Ebb brought me...

www.tiny-gaming.net/posts/rise-o... - TIDY UP as a genre is a fresh thing, and it is also a breeding cesspit for AI Slop Supreme. There are some worthy titles here, but I took it upon myself to write some thoughts about what makes a Tidy Up game a fun experience. Curious if y'all agree! #indiegames

www.tiny-gaming.net/posts/forbid... - FORBIDDEN SOLITAIRE is a fun gun, a great way to burn an afternoon soaked in the cheapo horror visuals that took heart and effort to nail so well! And while solitaire aspect is well made too, the game meta-narrative feels a bit undercooked. #indiegames

www.tiny-gaming.net/posts/terrat... -> TERRATECH LEGION is one of the best survivor-likes I played in a long time. High energy, with stylish vibe and aesthetics - and most important of all, with a fantastic core system of building up your Mortal Engine from great variety of pieces! #indiegames

Having a blast with TerraTech Legion - this is my ugliest baby yet, the Exploding Carnivale (of Many Booms). This puppy has so many mortars.

TinyGaming @tiny-gaming.net · 30/04/2026
TerraTech Legion is the most fun survivor-like take I ever played. Building your own death-machine is intuitive and superbly fun, especially when the game tosses your way some humongous piece of gear you scramble to fit onto your vehicle to try it out :D

Two types of roguelikes
edit of a Calvin & Hobbes strip

Panel 1:
"Playing a roguelike? I'll show you something interesting."

Panel 2:
- "There are two types of roguelikes: 'number go up' and 'easy to kill yourself'. Spelunky? Easy to kill yourself. Balatro? number go up"
- "yeah..."

Panel 3:
- "Caves of Qud or Streets of Rogue? easy to kill yourself.
Hades or Vampire Survivors? Number go up."
Despite Noita and Mewgenics allowing you to get big numbers, they are actually easy to kill yourself."

Panel 4:
Calvin looking visibly distressed at the sheer roguelike knowledge that was just dropped on him

www.tiny-gaming.net/posts/titani... -> TITANIUM COURT is unlike anything I ever seen. A fish out of water story steeped in hypnagogic vibes. High on irreverence and lampooning humor - modern groovy fairy tale. Oh, it's also a Match-3 tower defense autobattler, somehow...! #indiegames

Just played the demo. It's WILD. It's unlike anything I played before. Perfect blend of RPG, Management, Narrative and timey-wimey shenanigans. Great artwork, great writing, the demo was impossibly engrossing. I never played anything like that before and it is a fantastic experience. Give it a go!
