Ack! It’s so hard to know what to post about these days. These are dark times, my friends. I don’t know what else to say. 🖤

I'm performing at the Sooke Music Festival this Saturday, August 9th at 6pm. If you're in the south Vancouver Island area, please come. I've been rehearsing with 3 Victoria-based musicians (Alana on bass, Avi on drums and Vince on keys) and they'll be joining me at the festival. Can’t wait!

One of the many reasons I’ve stopped releasing music on Spotify.

These types of jobs are always full of surprises aren’t they? Despite best laid plans! Hope the remainder of the project goes without a hitch!

Yup, I wore lobster pants @ the Fox Cabaret show last week! My power pants lol. Seriously though, the pants came to symbolize something much more than a performance gimmick. Free post this week on Patreon. If you click thru, pls take the time to subscribe. Free or paid, every subscription helps. 💕

Such a great reminder! Local and small producers are always better, without question. 🐝

Excited to play with my band tonite at the Fox Cabaret in Vancouver! Doing something a little different, kinda Doorsesque as a 3-piece (guitar, keys and drums) without bass tonite. Fun!

Right?! I’m starting radical detanglement and detachment from my phone. I read something yesterday that horrified me…The average person burns up 20 years of their life staring at a phone. The irony of me staring at my phone to write and share this post is not lost on me. 😞

Excited to be part of the Open Air Concert Series tomorrow night with my pal Matthew Presidente at the Evergreen Cultural Centre in Coquitlam. 6pm!

One of my very favourite things is to come upon bees sleeping sweetly in flowers at the end of the day. My sister Tracy says she read that the ones sleeping in flowers at the end of the day are the bees at end of life. So, say thank you bee for all you do and good bye. And, that’s what I do. 💕🐝

I’m putting my money where my mouth is! I cancelled my monthly Spotify subscription. $23.99 Canadian Dollars less per month going towards building killing machines. Oh, and if you've seeing this for the first time, please respond to the poll on Patreon - www.patreon.com/posts/132945...

Awesome! I cancelled my monthly plan. It feels good to not be giving them any more of my hard-earned money to do nefarious things with! Money talks!

On Bluesky its easy to spot the MAGA aligned accounts pretending to be progressive or democrats, simply post Israeli and Russian criticism or content calling out war crimes or other criminal activity and watch who comes out of the woodwork. Very simple.

Fantastic article and summary of how many indie musicians like me are grappling with the ethics of contributing to the streaming giant Spotify that funds the war machine. I’m out!

I’m with you! Polled my followers and cancelled my Spotify subscription. No more of my hard-earned $ being fed into the war machine. My music is still up there for now but I’ll likely be pulling it off completely.

Spotify+drones+war= not a world I wanna support with my hard-earned money.

Also included in this update…’Amazon Prime Day sales on the first day are down 41% compared to last year.’ It’s a start. Gotta hit these guys where it hurts.

Perhaps the algo was in my favour this time round?

A screenshot from the most recent New Yorker article by Kyle Chayka in which I’m quoted saying, ‘The algo is never in our favour.’

Ya she’s a beauty inside and out! ❤️
