Anubis being Anubis, my writerly companion. #caterday
A low-angle portrait photo of an almost 4-year-old flame ragdoll cat with long-hair. He has a light orange pattern on his fur and a fluffy mane. Anubis (the cat) looks directly down at the camera with his light blue eyes. Light shines from above highlighting his flame-pointed ears and many long white whiskers. The blurred background reveals a bed knob, painting and decal in the corner of a room.

I haven't worn pierced earings for 20 years or longer. So this week, I scooped up a matching necklace and earings set online and guess what? My pierced ears are still pierced. No new "piercing" necessary.

Anyone else having issues with age verification on Blue Sky (BS)? I was able to verify this account with ease, but now when trying to verify my business account the face recognition tech errors. BS tells me to contact Kids Web Services and vice versa. #auspol @support.bsky.team @albomp.bsky.social

This is a photo my son took on my iPhone when walking home from primary school around the age of 10 (he's now 18). He has such a keen eye for imagery. I love how he found this poor chopped down tree where nature was determined to continue. (I hope things all work out for your cat and vet bill.)

Here was my long hair in progress. An old-style PC in the background and a rare view of the Brisbane River from my desk. Now skewered by a skyscraper.
A woman dressed in black with long hair that disappears below the backrest of her chair sits in front of a '90s PC at a work desk, drowning in paper. She looks over her shoulder towards the camera. Beyond the window in the background is a rare view of the Brisbane River and skyscrapers.

Recycling completed for this year.
A green poster from Containers for Change program in Australia. At the top is the Containers for Change logo followed by text that reads, "I traded 1,4061 Bincoin in 2025 and PET topped my returns." Beneath this writing is a hand reaching up holding a PET bottle. Towards the bottom of the poster the writing continues to say, "Queensland, together we returned 1.73 Bincoin in 2025!"

I can feel another storm coming on. Anubis has been in hiding for a couple of hours (most likely under a bed somewhere). Two nights ago, he spent over an hour hiding under my ankle length skirts while I sat at this desk. Got to love my grandson. #Brisbane #caturday

Two days ago, I removed the broken power supply from my computer and replaced it with a new one purchased on eBay. I did this all by myself in a heat wave and without aircon. Watcing a couple of YouTube vides helped. No more borrowing the husband's computer. #olddognewtrick

My old cat is dying. Tabitha Joy Dubinsky is 20 and my firstborn child. I helped her mum (who was visiting) give birth to her in our walk-through closet. The name Tabitha derives from a character of mine, and her middle name, Joy, was my mum's. And joy, she has brought us. #catsofbluesky #cat

Part one of a short creative non-fiction story coming soon to my Substack newsletter. I know, The Day the Desktop Died sounds illuminating. It will be free to read and comment. No subscription necessary.
Black text on a white background. A heading reads: The Day the Desktop Died (Part One). Beneath the heading is a brief introduction: What I did with nearly 40 hours of my life last weekend when my desktop died including talking to myself and pretending there's a live audience. I'm not mad, just self-entertaining. Available April 22nd, 2025 TinaDubinsky.substack.com

I went to see Deadpool and Wolverine this afternoon with the family. Mr. D had taken our son to see it a couple of weeks ago. Since then, we have binged all the Deadpool, Wolverine and X-Men movies and as they wanted to watch it again at the cinema, I decided to go with them this time. (c)

I have this cat. I love her. She's our first child, the "test" baby. Tabitha Joy is 19. But I'm slowly going mad as whenever I try sleeping, she gets up and starts caterwauling. She wants to ||: drink water, eat, go out, go in, eat, drink water, go out :|| and must have an audience.🥱

She is a tortoiseshell cat (moggie) and about 12 years old in this photo. In the background on the left, is a bottle of Vicks and a gold pencil caddy, and to the right is a yellow highlighter lid.

He was also the stage manager for Queensland Young Dancers and President of The Mackay Eisteddfod Committee for one year. The Eisteddfod ran for three weeks every year during which time he was also a volunteer stage manager.
Volunteer stage manager Andy Wells holds his youngest daughter's hand as one of the volunteer mothers dresses a wound on his leg, obtained in the course of his duties backstage. Behind him in the dressing room is a broad glass mirror with light bulbs above. A camera flash and other volunteer parents can be seen watching in the reflection.

My almost 94-year-old father died Sunday evening at 11:15 pm. He was in a great deal of pain, physically and mentally. The world is quieter and duller without him. You can rest now, Dad. Thomas Andrew Wells 22 June 1930 - 14 April 2024
Stage manager Thomas Andrew Wells (Andy) stands on the old Mackay Theatre Royal floorboards, posing for a photograph. A black curtain is drawn behind him. If only my dad could pause dying until May. March and April are rather inconvenient (says no one ever). Love you, Daddy.
A dilapidated lime green Datsun Bluebird is in the middle of a large grassed street with its driver door slightly opened. Next to it is a middle-aged man in shorts, a shirt, and a balding head—yes, he's my dad—running to the street curb to get out of the shot. In the street behind the car is a gravel bicycle footpath beneath a row of Jacaranda trees under which a ute is parked. Even further, you can see a street sign and bitumen of Peak Downs Highway, which runs parallel to the grass street. There is a lot of greenery on either side of the street.

Before writing, my interests leaned toward music and drama. In year 12, our drama class stirred an interest in playwriting and poetry. I started writing my first children's novel when I was 20. Now, my main WIP is a dark fantasy novel.
Social media questions for writers on March 5: When did you first show an interest in writing? How has that interest changed? The questions are on the left side of the image in an off-centre opaque circle. In the background, a writer's hand holds a black and gold pen as it rests on an open book.

First, I'm completing a commercial client's LinkedIn posts for next week. Then, planning a customer-focused monthly newsletter for another client. Finally, if I have some time left between homeschooling my 16-year-old son, I might revise two fictional short stories focusing on women in history.
Social media image with the heading "March 4" and beneath this the text,"What writing projects are you working on today?" captured in a light blue, off-centre semi-circle on the left of the image. On the right is a stock image of a woman's hands writing on a laptop keyboard. Also on the desk behind the laptop are three open notepads and a pair of glasses.

I love writing about my childhood home. It's the setting for a children's story I wrote decades ago and then filed away. I visited it once. There was no answer when I knocked. So, I took a photo with my favourite tree and left. I love the extract from the story; it has a lovely country feel.
