The Los Angeles Police Department's officer union said Tuesday it will oppose Measure FD, the half-cent sales tax measure on the Nov. 3 ballot pushed by the city firefighters' union - setting up a bitter and expensive clash between two of the city's most powerful unions.
The Police Protective League said it plans to spend several million dollars on broadcast and digital advertising as well as mailers to oppose Measure FD, which if approved by voters would direct hundreds of millions of dollars annually to the Fire Department to build new stations, hire firefighters and upgrade

Outside of the St Paul courthouse, protesters are fighting with agents. The feds are now charging 15 people with impeding immigration enforcement in Minneapolis- under the guise of "antifa". As an aside- in LA they have failed to obtain guilty verdicts in most cases brought against protesters.

The Trump administration is big mad that people infiltrated literal Nazi groups and passed docs to the SPLC- and likely FBI agents that work in domestic terrorism. This is exactly the same method the FBI uses with their informants. This indictment is insane.

a. F-37 was a member of the online leadership chat group that planned the 2017 "Unite the Right" event in Charlottesville, Virginia and attended the event at the direction of the SPL.C. F-37 made racist postings under the supervision of the SPLC and helped coordinate transportation to the event for several attendees. Between 2015 and 2023, the SPIC secretly paid F-37 more than $270,000.00.
b. F-9 was affiliated with the neo-Nazi organization, the National Alliance and
served as an F for the SPLC for more than 20 years. F-9's activities included fundraising for the National Alliance. Between 2014 and 2023, the SPLC secretly paid F-9 more than S1,000,000.00. In 2014, F-9 entered the
headquarters of a violent extremist group and stole 25 boxes of their documents.
F-9 coordinated payment for the copying of the materials with a high-level
SPLC employee who had knowledge the documents had been stolen. The
original stolen materials were returned to the violent extremist group in a
second illegal entry by F-9. Thereafter, the high-level SPIC employee utilized the documents, in part, as the basis for a story published on the SPLC's Hatewatch website and authored by the employee. Another F. F-39, was blamed for the theft and was paid approximately $6,000.00 by the SPLC to falsely take responsibility for the theft.
c. F-unknown was the Imperial Wizard of the United Klans of America. In an
article published on November 22, 2013, the SPLC described the group as a
"millennial reboot of what was once a serious domestic threat. In its prime, the United Klans of America was responsible for, among other things, the 16° Street Baptist Church bombing in Birmingham, Ala, which resulted in the deaths of four little girls in 1963."

Labor leaders, and community partners announce the launch of Oakland and Alameda County Living Wage for All Campaign in California – Filing Ballot Initiatives for $30 minimum wage

The initiative phases in the minimum wage increase through a scheduled set of planned increases, with large businesses getting to $30 by 2030 if they have over 100 employees and with more than $1 billion in annual revenue, and small businesses with 25 or fewer employees being given a full decade to reach the same wage. The initiatives will eventually raise the minimum wage to $30 an hour for every worker in Oakland and Alameda County.
The launch comes at an unprecedented time when a majority of the Alameda County workforce earns less than the cost of living. The MIT Living Wage calculator shows that one person in a two-parent, two-child household must earn over $40 per hour to cover the basic cost of living. Nearly 40% of Alameda County workers do not earn even $30 an hour, and a majority do not earn the cost of living.
