It is the best thing they could do. They really killed their own economy with Brexit. Giving up having a say in your trade relationships with your largest trading partners was always a stupid idea, seemingly motivated mostly by bigotry. We're all stronger, and richer, together.

My servers all went down for some unknown reason. Fortunately, my good friend Danimo from X-Hain was once again willing to come over and fix me up. He did complain quite a bit about my cobbled together infrastructure, tho. Which is fair: Once it works, I'm afraid to touch it again; I might break it!

Just watched the final episode of "Draw This, Then Die!" It really brings it full-circle in a way I wasn't expecting, but makes total sense. Teshima Rei definitely had big issues exacerbated by the demands of the industry, but Yasumi Ai is not her, and her healthier attitude means she may survive...

The artist in the article reveals what we already knew; passing is essential to being treated with any dignity or humanity. Yeah, it shouldn't be that way. But it is. I haven't had FFS, but I use a few techniques to aid in passing. Maybe not 100%, but enough to get the benefit of the doubt...

Idea: re-patching a modular synth is annoying. Suppose we took all of the I/O and ran it into a patch bay that could take a card edge connector? Then one could make a card with all of your connections, and change them as easily as swapping cartridges on a videogame system.

I'd never heard about the 8/16 bit game Exile, that fit in 32k on the BBC Micro, then was ported to other systems. A very interesting early sandbox game using algorithmically generated terrain to implement a huge world with multiple puzzles. They have rebuilt it for the web: bbcexile.com It's hard!

Today's project: 3d printed spacer/stabilizer for pin headers to make them straight and properly spaced for microcontrollers. One could either solder it and remove it, or leave it in place for continued stability.

So, Anbernic released a new version of their Nintendo DS-styled Android / Linux device, the RG DS. While the specs for most things have increased, the processor has not changed at all. In my tests, this makes it still completely useless for it's stated purpose, playing Nintendo DS / DSi / 3DS games.

I don't know if it's my HP printer or Windows 11, but I can't get it to print reliably over the Wifi network at all, and even plugging it into USB doesn't help. Generally, Windows has been fine with every printer before this, so I'm leaning towards it being an HP problem... #HP what happened?

I learned everything I ever knew about gender from Bugs Bunny.

Bugs Bunny (any pronouns) is dressed as a sexy woman of 1950's America. She is wearing a blond wig with a blue hat, a pink blouse with a square neckline and pert breasts, a blue pencil skirt that still lets the tail stick out, and bright red high heeled sandals. Lately I've been messing around with my electric guitar and some really sludgy, slow, over-reverbed, shoegaze-style stuff (unlike my song called "Shoegaze" which is actually kinda fast, strangely.) Had an idea for a 'Zine called "Replicant: More Human than Humans". It would be using the metaphor of humanoid robots/androids seeking equality in a society hostile to their presence and very existence to discuss issues of various minorities and strategies for coping and dealing with them.

What if we made the same kind of camp adventure movies we made in the 70s and 80s, but instead of the token straight romance, the guy is always an idiot, and the romance is always between the audience insert character girl, and a heroic sword lesbian? Just take any movie and substitute characters.

Once again, somebody has suggested that something I am responsible for is disorganized and ugly. Darlings, it's a working synthesizer setup. Everything is exactly where it needs to be for me to reach it and play it. It is the most beautiful thing ever.
