@quixoticgeek There's even a precedent for holding regattas in such circumstances.

Henley-on-Todd regatta. Alice Springs. As the river doesn't usually have any water in it, the boats don't have any bottoms and the competitors run rather than rowing.

@Shobeck Yes, it works fine with #HomeAssistant. Here's one of my dashboards. But getting into Home Assistant can be rather a big deal if you're not using it already and you don't find that sort of thing fun.

So much for today's forecast 30°C. The peak at 2pm is almost certainly spurious- I very strongly suspect (but haven't fought my way through the thorn bushes to check at exactly the right time) that the sun shines on the thermometer for a few minutes. #Cambridge

@stew_sims But sometimes the "weeds" growing out of the cracks in the patio are a deliberate herb garden. We even get (tiny) wild strawberries to eat sometimes.

Oh look, Trump's attempt to destroy the European economy seems (at least according to the stock markets) to be being shrugged off. Looks like the markets have, as I suspected they would, decided to ignore the tyrant's tantrums and return to BAU, simply ignoring the USA as no longer relevant.

@ChrisWarwick My wife was unimpressed by anything that an IHD could display at the time so I've ended up with this - yes, a #HomeAssistant dashboard running on an Android tablet in the kitchen.

Dashboard showing gauges for battery percent, solar power generation, consumption, battery discharge power and grid export power. And just plain numbers for PV energy so far today and grid export so far today. And a clock, because when cooking it's more convenient to glance at the tablet than glance at the microwave which is further away.
