The key to using AI well as an individual artist, just like all creative automation, is to automate everything except for the parts that you love. You love the darkroom? Don’t buy a digital camera. You love frame by frame animation? Don’t rig your characters.

I know I’ve said this before, but I’m once again struck by the way that different categories of artists are reacting to AI art tools. If someone has an anti-AI take, 9 times out of 10, they’re a digital illustrator first and foremost. The last 1 out of 10 is a 3D artist.
