"Worship can happen any place, any time". To affirm this message, FWCC's General Secretary went outside to record a message for the BBC, which was broadcast this morning as part of @quaker.org.uk Quaker Week and ahead of World Quaker Day this weekend. Full text here: fwcc.world/fwcc-records...

Part of the role of the FWCC is to maintain positive and peaceful relations with our neighbours. Sometimes this means attending events in the lives of other communions on behalf of Quakers. The Church of England has just shared this picture from a meeting with Sarah Mullally earlier this year.

I've been thinking about this a lot. Even though the different versions of Quakerism interpreted the early Friends differently, they all (at least originally) claimed a link back to George Fox, Robert Barclay etc. Could we find unity by getting to know early Quakerism better?

We've been saying it for 360 years and will keep saying it now: Women's ministry and leadership absolutely is Biblical. It's true Quakers don't have archbishops, partly because there is no Biblical precedent for that, but that's no reason not to be friends. www.quaker.org.uk/blog/why-qua...

I did not know that the origin of the trope of the conical witches hat, may have come from historic anti-Quaker propaganda. I do know that the cultural memory of our own persecution is precisely why Friends extend solidarity to other religious faiths when they are depicted using caricatures.

It's disappointing that some of the people and papers who shouted loudest for a working definition of antisemitism are opposing the same for Islamophobia. If you support a definition for one group, but not for another, you need to think hard about whether that is because of your own prejudice.
