I never thought I could have a lower opinion of Kennedy until I heard him question Jack Smith.

Every time Trump says, "Iran will never have a nuclear weapon" I hear myself say, "how long will it be before Iran announces it has tested a nuclear device?" Because Trump is wrong about everything.

Trump and his family are destined to be the most hated family on the face of the earth all for the love of a buck. The amount of suffering they are causing is unconscionable. The lack of humanity and self-awareness is unfathomable.

It will be brought about when the conditions for our very survival necessitate it. A return to a condition of necessity will be commensurate with the Third Transformation of Human Consciousness. [2020]

A perpetually escalating war to end all wars. What will it take for the Social Issue to be finally resolved? Will it require an apocalypse the likes of which the planet has never seen? Will we have to reach rock bottom until there is no longer any lower to go?

The Social Issue- the harder it is pursued, the more elusive it remains. With each successive revolution intended to delivery liberty to the underprivileged the more dire the consequences.

the commodification of labor, has allowed a handful of well-connected members of the government and their families to become billionaires while a billion of its population live a life of repression, squalor, and drug addiction. What price freedom?

Since then things haven’t gotten much better for the Chinese people. It remains the most entrenched and brutal dictatorship on earth since Genghis Khan. China’s one redeemable feature in light of its condition,

At war’s end, Mao swept down out of the mountains to attack the war weary Nationalists. When victory came in 1949, the real killing began. During the decade of the 1950’s an estimated 50 to 60 million Chinese were executed by their liberator.

China is the last revolution on the list. No one knows for sure how many lives it cost. It began before the Second World War, when Mao took refuge in the mountains to wait out the onslaught of the Japanese. Perhaps the only act of extreme cowardice that ended in victory.

There was also the legacy of western colonialism to be addressed. Gandhi, through the sheer force of his indomitable moral spirit forced the mighty British empire out of India. The United States gave the Philippines back to the Filipino people. France was more reluctant to relinquish

The revelation would spark the modern civil rights movement, a struggle that continues to haunt the American psyche with the rise of a virulent white supremacist movement and the reverberating chant that, “black lives matter.”

Black soldiers who had fought bravely in Europe and the Pacific all in the name of freedom returned to the same racist America they had left, where their basic human rights were denied, and where justice was found at the end of the lynch mob’s rope.

World War Two was meant to nip it in the bud, and it nearly did. Hitler brought ruin to the German people for his monstrous resolution, but there was still work to be done at home.

The result was a war that killed 50 million lives. The Social Issue had taken a giant step backward.

The German failure at parliamentary government made the French pale in comparison. In 1933, the Nazis, with a 33% plurality in the Reichstag, took control of Germany, based on a doctrine of the superiority of the Aryan race, and the persecution of the Jews.

The devastating consequences of the First World War brought revolution to German. It was barely a blip on the radar but would determine the course of events to the present day. In 1919, every morning the streets of Berlin and Munich were strewn with the bodies of the contending factions;

The elitist plutocratic system of Putin is a sham reinvention of Russia under the czars. Putin builds billion dollar villas for himself while one quarter of the Russian population still live without interior plumbing.

“Socialism in one country,” became the program, a system of collectivization enforced by a good dose of terror on a population of peasants who had tended their own fields for centuries. When Lenin suddenly died in 1924, power fell into the hands of Stalin, a brutal authoritarian of the first order.

Drastic measures were in order. “All power to the soviets,” (meaning the local people’s councils,) quickly devolved to, “all power to the party,” (meaning Lenin himself.) The theory of an elite, “vanguard,” as the thinking organ of the party came into play.

Lenin was in exile in Zurich during the First World War, and almost didn’t make it home in time for the Russian revolution. When he arrived, he realized that the situation was untenable. The conditions for a transition to communism did not exist; industrialism was just struggling to take hold.

Marx always believed that his utopian vision of society would take place in the industrialized countries of Europe and would spread as a worldwide movement, not in a Russia that was still enveloped in a bucolic feudalism.

of production. More often than not, this demand was met by impositions on labor. The fundamental truth in Marx’s theory of capital is that economies must produce increased value or they will wither and die, dragging the wage earner down with it.

Marx revealed the flaws in Adam Smith’s closed economic system in which supply and demand were balance by, “the invisible hand,” of god. Marx showed with mathematical precision that economies were not closed but expanded and contracted according to the demands imposed by the unfixed variables

The Marxist communist state never came to pass. The self-proclaimed communist states that have cropped up have all been variations on state control of production enforced by terror. However, Marx’s contribution to economics is undeniable, even if unacknowledged by western scholars.

Dialectic materialism does not stand the test of historical analysis. Marx himself made a halfhearted acknowledgement of the indeterminate nature of history after the disastrous events of 1848, the February Revolution,

Proudhon would add anarchy to the mix, best remembered for his declaration, “property is theft.” Marx decided to enlist the help of Hegelian dialectics, which would prove to be his undoing. Marx was an astute historian and economist, but as a prognosticator he was a complete failure.

During the years following the Napoleonic Wars, the distinction between the, “state,” and, “society,” began to crystalize. Saint-Simon and Fourier were the first to formulate what would come to be known as, “Socialism.”

Personal ambition got the better of his efforts and after a dazzling career as one of the greatest generals of all time, he died in 1821 a broken man exiled on the tiny island of St Helena. The Social Issue in France was put on the back burner.

France’s first swing at representational government ended with the Committee of Public Safety and the reign of terror. The Seine ran red with blood. After 10 years of trial-and-error Napoleon took hold of power and set out to spread liberty near and far.

the attitude of the monarchy was summed up by a sentiment questionably attributed to Marie Antoinette, “Let them eat cake.” The French peasants stormed the Bastille with a vengeance. What followed would make even the most ardent revolutionary’s blood curdle.
