Tokens/$ isn't coming down. They are charging less because they are lighting money on fire, but it's not coming down. And China is ten years away from producing the high bandwidth memory needed for AI. They are like ~4-5 years away stoll from ram that can be used in off the shelf pcs.

The people wanting the INS back didn't live through how bad it was. Homeland was a mistake, but breaking up the INS was a good idea. As time has gone on, things change, ice is out of control. We need to keep CIS. They do good work. We just need to eliminate ICE.

The INS was just as bad as ICE was before Trump (what's happening now is disgusting and unprecedented). I worked at an immigration law firm back in the 90s and everybody hated the INS.

The INS was an absolute mess and had *plenty* of abuse with its enforcement powers (that was part of the reason for breaking it apart). Going back to the INS is a terrible idea. We need to decriminalize being undocumented. Give a ticket and go after employers instead. Only deport criminals.

I'm old enough to remember when the the separation of powers of the INS into CIS and ICE was celebrated because it stopped the conflict of interest between immigration and naturalization matters and enforcement matters. Bringing back the INS isn't the answer. Decriminalizing overstaying is.
