I disagree with this framing as it defines Hispanics as a monolith, a classic failing of Democrats. Let’s accept they have diverse interests and motivations

This is a terminal state. IMO when you look at what garners 20-30% support in polls it is really marginal stuff. 30% is about the bottom 30% means you are a loser and no amount of PSA/ads and FOX call-ins is going to change that trend

The Bradley effect is centered on race. Not sure where that applies here but I would not use it to generalize

And I should note on your bleg leading the article, the months after the midterms are the presidential election cycle, so don’t do it! “But in the months after, there is a predictable churn of people canceling monthly subscriptions after votes are tallied”

Do you do this with people that hold vastly different view of economics? I ask because I view that the Economics does great things but, especially in this century, avoids interrogating its fundamental assumptions. All conversations are on a narrow spectrum, I feel

Rufo’s whole shtick is finding scary sounding phrases and attributing them to democrats, and thereafter running an outrage scam What upsets him here is that the GOP has a scary sounding phrase attached to it. It does not bother him that is it true, truth is irrelevant to him

Great recap. When I first came across Rufo (when he discovered fame with CRT) I felt he was a sophist like Gingrich, where the goal is to find a scary-sounding word or phrase (and do what you say above) I do not view that strategy as morally neutral: it is used to stir division, hate and fear

“Love him or hate him, he has created a lot of jobs.” I am not an economist but I do know that Tesla median income is less than any other US car manufacturer (including Rivan and Lucid). This is wildly less than Boeing or Apple, and closer to Amazon (the latter numbers include part-time tho)
