Things I don’t need to do now that I’m a Doomer: 1. Spending my time trying to save the world. I can’t, and never could. I will positively influence what I can. Or just do as little harm as I can. Both within reason. I’m not sacrificing my entire life while everyone I know lives in ignorant bliss.

There‘s these carbon offsets? FF corps can buy CO2 credits for things other people do: planting trees, manure management... They extract oil and say they‘re CO2 neutral. It is like a serial killer saying he’s murder neutral because he offset his murders by paying other men to impregnate women.

The only thing the climate movement is moving is the goalpost. We crossed 1.5c. That’s ok because we can still take action. We can’t stop climate disasters & suffering, but we can lessen their impacts. Climate action is now disaster management, crash landing prep. Everyone, take the crash position.
