Tim Hoelscher @timhoelscherauthor.com · 10/10/2026We went and picked up 7 new hens released from a factory farm in North Carolina last night. They seem pretty happy. There were 17k altogether so 7 isn’t really a drop in the bucket but still. The others are headed to a processing plant on the eastern shore for pet food. Pets gotta eat too I suppose 020 2

Tim Hoelscher @timhoelscherauthor.com · 22/09/2026Just started really fleshing this out and writing a few scenes. Getting my notes together from Washington, DC, Barcelona and Chicago where the story takes place. Very different vibe than _This is a Place of Endings_, but some common threads, too. Excited to get into it! Read on Gavagai 020 2
Tim Hoelscher @timhoelscherauthor.com · 23/08/2026Callie and I hit the National Book Festival today jn DC. So many books and - more importantly - so many book lovers! We couldn’t stay to see the discussion with Johnny Compton and Nick Cutter. Silvia Moreno-Garcia was there signing and Martin Scorsese was giving a talk but it was super crowded 121 2
Tim Hoelscher @timhoelscherauthor.com · 13/06/2026A few pics from our trip to Spain. There is so much story fodder from this trip I don't even know where to start. I'll probably dig into a few novels set in Barcelona to see what other writers' takes have been. The last pic is from the Primavera festival (The Cure was playing here). 020 2
Tim Hoelscher @timhoelscherauthor.com · 08/06/2026Spending a few days in Barcelona and heading to Bilbao tomorrow. This is such an amazing place. Only downside has been the ubiquity of jamón, which for me has the unique risk of anaphylaxis. But it’s not too hard to sidestep that porky bullet. 010 1
Tim Hoelscher @timhoelscherauthor.com · 26/05/2026This cat was deep black when she arrived at our house. She’s gotten progressively more orange as though bleached. Maybe it’s like a summer thing for her. Beach fur #CatsOfBluesky 071 7
Tim Hoelscher @timhoelscherauthor.com · 25/05/2026Built a new couch ramp for Weeze today. Experimenting with the best non-slip fabric to upholster it. I like this pic because she looks like a product shill going “oh my god I can’t believe how EASY it is to get down!” We’ll get it permanently upholstered tomorrow #DogsOfBluesky 2111 11

Tim Hoelscher @timhoelscherauthor.com · 16/05/2026I really liked this unintentional forced perspective with Bumpy looking much larger than Weeze. I feel like Bumpy would accept this as reality and think, “Of course I’m the bigger, more powerful one.” #caturday 030 3

Tim Hoelscher @timhoelscherauthor.com · 03/10/2025Bumpy decided to just go stand in his little travel basket. He’s been doing this a lot. We started taking him for walks when we took Weeze, and I wasn’t sure he liked it. But now I think he’s really starting to dig it. This basket pops right onto the wheeled stroller thing 120 2

Tim Hoelscher @timhoelscherauthor.com · 04/08/2025We got one of those bird camera feeders. This was kind of an alarming message when a squirrel jumped on it. Tim Hoelscher @timhoelscherauthor.com · 02/07/2025Somebody gave us this goat silhouette thing for Christmas last year. Never one to not use something, I built a gate around it into the chicken/goat yard. Hence the goat and slightly unhinged chicken.
