i have been playing for a few hours and there’s truly something about this. i am not one to build a home in a survival game unless it is out of sheer necessity. and yes, this environment is harsh. but i felt the need to build a house just to spite the environment. to spit in its dry, unfeeling face.

a blocky world. in the side of a mountain, a checkered black doorway sits, harsh light beaming out of it

the interior of the doorway. two lights harshly blind the viewer, two odd blocks sit across the room, their textures squares within squares. a small, square creature with two legs, a bear face, and a sprout popping out of its head patters across those blocks.

the same room as in the previous image, but we can see down a passage. within, a transparent block on the floor omits a green glow.

if it’s an incremental game with a prestige system, you should be able to 100% the skill tree after prestiging (?) a certain number of times. this works better, for my taste, if each “run” (the play between the prestige) has some random elements that might push you down a different skill tree path.

any thoughts on games that have a lot of the rules on cards, usually for unique abilities, events, engine building, deck building, or the like? more specifically games that let those unique, modular rules bash into each other like beyblades in new ways. ie cosmic encounter. do you have a favourite?

gwog!!! they were working on a similar thing to quantum league, the timeloop shooter which has a similar story - but the devs promised an offline version when shutting the servers down. 3 years later and we haven’t heard from them EXCEPT to tell people working on something akin to this to stop. neat

i also find, while watching gameplays, that it takes me out of the experience. the flat lifeless voices don’t fit the game, which is by contrast chock full of the life and love the team put into it. i really hope human voice actors is something possible down the line.
