At some point I turned my knitting inside out and didn’t notice 😭

A white hand holds up a piece of knitting in progress. The piece is the start of a lace shawl in purple yarn. The inner circle in pattern, although purl bumps face the viewer. The outside of the circle has knit stitches facing the viewer.

Squished on the double pointeds, but not enough stitches for circular ☹️🧶

A triangle of lace lays against the fur of an orange cat. The lace is all bunchy, you can’t see the stitch definition

Modifying knitting patterns to include Totoro. This is Flower Power by Anna Johanna

Sandwich time! Did this one during a homeschool event and got lots of stares 😂 #quilting #quiltsandwich #quilt #quiltwip

The layers of a quilt lay on a plastic table. Bottom layer is a red floral. Middle is thin batting. Top is a white and green friendship star. A bag of safety pins lays close to the camera.

Furry sir, you’re not helping. Put the murder mittens away.

A top down shot of a woman holding a knitting project in progress. The needles and two colors of blue yarn are in her left hand. A brown cat has put his paw (with claws out) atop the needles, holding them in place.

The yarn is unraveled, washed, dried, and re-caked. Now what do I do with it? It’s 50/50 wool/cotton and pills like a mofo. I don’t like it. Try steeking? If I screw up nothing of value is lost. It’s DK weight in navy, blue, and gray.

A brown cat observes yarny stuff going on. Yarn is being hung to dry in the background. In the foreground a tangle of yarn is laid across an umbrella winder.

Taking apart a Weekender is almost as annoying as wearing a Weekender 🧶

A blue sweater lays bunched up in a woman’s lap. There’s yarn hanging off one end

Why would I knit something new when I can make the same thing again? More Summer Sorrels! 🧶

The yoke of a shirt lays on a light yellow blanket. It’s still small. The deep pink stitches are arranged like a sunburst around the circular needles.

When you’re trying to modify a quilting pattern but can’t visualize it… so you make it from construction paper. Pattern is Neon Dreams by Erika Bea, published in American Patchwork & Quilting (free online)

A quilt assembly diagram sits in the foreground, a sea of pink and white. Behind it, just out of focus, is a mess of blue and yellow squares and rectangles.

Looks like it could kill you, is a cinnamon roll:

A white hand holds a collection of double pointed knitting needles. The needles are part of the start of a project - gray yarn is suspended between the needles with purpose. It’s going to be a dice bag, but right now it looks like a mess!

Sometimes I think I’m pretty good at math. Then I knit lace and can’t count to six 🧶

A piece of knitting sits on a wooden table. The knitter is halfway through a row, you can see the needles sticking out the top and stitch markers all down the side. The knitting is striped - alternating gray and rainbow sparkly vomit

Too big to spread out on the needles so here’s the back panel. This is Lada by Wolf & Faun Knits. It’s a 3/4 blanket shawl 💛 #showmeyourknits

On Halloween we offer the kids a trade - their candy haul (minus ten pieces of their choice) for a surprise. This is for my oldest this year:

Image shows a teal D20. The side front and center is the 20 side, featuring the pink outline of Rick Astley singing. The other visible sides are 2 with the word “never”, 14 with the word “give”, and 8 with the word “up”. It can be purchased for $8 USD from the shop DndDice on Etsy.

Got this cute wicker basket a while back from Buy Nothing. Thought it would be perfect to hold yarn in. Forgot I have a CAT who thinks everything is his. How I have to put cardboard and a brick on top to keep the fuzzy terrorist from dragging yarn all across the house. 🐱🧶

A brown wicker basket sits center left in the photo. Atop are a heavy ceramic bowl (blue with yellow dots) and a red brick. A case of chiagoo needles leans on the basket, with a brown wooden yarn bowl pinning it in place.

WTF Texas. How is this legal? These are the current proposed districts for Tarrant County.

Colorful blobs are laid atop a map of Tarrant county. Blue number 4 takes up most of the upper left. Green number 3 has most of the upper right. Yellow number 2 has a good part of the whole bottom. But red number 1 is shaped like a piece of string someone dropped on the floor. It takes up the right border below 3, then shrinks dramatically and sneaks towards the middle of the map, weaving between 2 and 3. Once 1 reaches the middle it makes a dramatic swoop south - like a fish hook - carving out whole neighborhoods in 2. All the borders are jagged. Uneven. Like they were drawn street by street.

Finally. A summer reading program worthy of my homeschooled bookworms:

A screenshot of the Beanstalk app - an app used to track summer reading by libraries. This library has categories for “Read 1200 minutes in 60 days”, “Read 2400 minutes in 60 days” and “Read 4800 minutes in 60 days”. To get the top prize a child would have to read 80 minutes a day.
