We're purple. The GOP senators did not win by huge margins. They gerrymandered the crap out of the state. 30 years ago, Traficant was my congressman. Then we got gerrymandered when he went to prison. We voted for Ted Strickland, who was later Governor. They gerrymandered us again. It's depressing.

Today's newsletter, The Marginalian, by @mariapopova.bsky.social was such a lovely breath of fresh air (as usual)! Something that appealed heavily to me is this portion pictured below, about Jane Ellen Harrison, whom I must now add to my reading list! I love Virginia Woolf, and didn't know this.

Suddenly, she could see the patriarchy for the dogma that it is, gender for the dogma that it is, socially constructed and morally enforced. Long before her friend Virginia Woolf threw the gauntlet of Orlando at the binaries of gender, Jane Ellen Harrison set out to dismantle the dogma. The mind, she insisted, has no gender, but each mind has elements of the feminine and the masculine - the feminine being more
"resonant," the masculine more "insulated." This word choice is too peculiar not to betray Jane Ellen Harrison's influence on Woolf, who would soon write in A Room of One's Own that the most "naturally creative" mind is "the androgynous mind," which is "resonant and porous." The statement does not acknowledge that more than a million messages were exposed, and also misleads users that those messages were leaked as part of the initial breach. The messages were exposed in an entirely separate breach around different security issues. On July 26, after 404 Media reported about both Tea breaches, Tea said on Instagram that it received over 2.5 million requests to join the app. The replies from users on Instagram are filled with people who are on the Tea app waiting list to be approved. Again, even after it said it has hired a cybersecurity firm to address the two previously reported breaches, 404 Media found a third security issue that exposed users' private information that Tea wasn't aware of until we reached out for comment.

When I was a rebellious teen, I started using personal pronouns to describe all my friends (good or bad ones, especially males) & people in general. It became a 55 year habit, to this day. You know, we should all use pronouns like they/them to describe everyone we know or talk about. <Evil Grin>

I once took a programming class in 1972. Flunked it, because I didn't understand why we were typing binary into a system that spit out 100's of punch cards. Went on to CPM/DOS, Unix, etc. One thing I learned is in programming, you have to be meticulous. In math, & in spelling. DOGE? Rank Amateurs.
