This is not the beginning of anything, just a continuation. The US has been trying to control Latin America for nearly a century now. Smedley Butler wrote about it in his book, War is a Racket, published in 1935. The Cold War and GWOT were just covers for US imperialism. Corporatism=Fascism.

Obama bombed Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Pakistan, Somalia, Syria, and Yemen. It would seem Democrats only care about who Republicans bomb. This hypocrisy is the epitome of identity politics that (literally) keeps the bombs of empire dropping regardless of who's in office.

"The empire needs its skillful orators and apologists like Obama, but it also needs its iron-fisted overt tyrants like Trump. ... Both are essential components to the operation of the imperial machine." ~Caitlin Johnstone

Aleksandr Solzhenytsin said,"A state if war only serves as an excuse for domestic tyranny." Herman Goering suggested in his Nuremberg testimony that every form of government is prone to tyranny. Thus is true of every human institution, because belief, itself, makes us all prone to tyranny.

The beliefs that make up our identity form the lens of division through which we see the world as me/us and dehumanized "others." Only when we take off this lens and see everyone as flawed, imperfect human beings can we fully practice compassion and return to humanity.

"We have lost our capacity for speaking with kindness." ~Thich Nhat Hanh For every attachment, we develop a fear of loss, a need to control and defend. Any challenge to an attached belief is subsequently met with unkindness, robbing us of a bit of our precious humanity. That is Identity Politics.

In a hierarchical society based on competition, we are all pushed to pursue a position of power-over. Ideals such as compassion, cooperation, equality, and humility are detrimental and considered weakness. Such a society inherently drives out humanity and delivers us back to barbarism.

We are our own worst enemies. We hold ourselves back; push too far too fast. We blame others for our mistakes; blame ourselves for what's beyond our control. We accept what we should reject; reject what should be accepted. We religiously defend beliefs w/o question. We must let go to grow.

Bush and Trump show us Republicans are bullies, choosing military might for US domination of weaker nations. Obama and Biden show us Democrats are manipulators, instigating conflicts from the shadows to weaken strong nations. Defending or supporting either party diminishes one's own humanity.

timeloopbandit.bsky.social @timeloopbandit.bsky.social · 05/01/2026
Is there really a difference between a physical bully and a manipulator? Physical abuse and psychological abuse are perceived as different, but practically speaking, they're both abuse with the same intention: Domination or power-over. Might makes right & moral superiority both = power-over.

Superficial beliefs remain so no matter how deeply we integrate them into our identity. Narrow beliefs remain so no matter how broadly we expound upon them. These illusions of bredth and depth are the dimensions of the comfortable prison within which we choose to reside & resist uncomfortable truths

You're experiencing cognitive bias--rejecting truths that are just too uncomfortable for you to accept. That is why nothing can ever change for the People ... because people can't change their beliefs no matter how flawed they are. The lesser evil is not a saint, they're still evil.

When the scope of your worldview is dictated by the institutions you are attached to, you can never fully exercise or expand your cognitive potential. Read between the lines, look behind the curtains, and follow the money. We were all intended to do more than toe a party line.

Dems had a super majority for O-bomb-ya's first 2 years. When asked, he said RvW wasn't his priority. Instead, he gifted the private health ins industry with the ACA, expanded extrajudicial assassination, suppressed journalism & protest, and increased detention & deportation of immigrants.

I did address them. You're just not seeing the big picture, which is the point of identity politics and culture war. As long as you are attached to the Democratic party, you cannot see their abuses or lies. They only offer us empty promises and never follow through with any of them.

... And making the same decisions and expecting different results is always the best option for change. We've been going back and forth between D&R and have only moved to the Right in the last 30 years? Why? Because the role of the Ds is to ensure that no real Leftist movement gains traction.

Dems had majorities under both Obama and Biden and could have codified RvW and passed a Medicare for All, as a 1st step toward a NHS, but chose not to. Instead, both passed legislation that served the oligarchy and pursued war. Learn to see beyond identity politics.

With the exception of the pardons, Trump follows the precedents set by Obama and Biden. I'm sorry that you can't see beyond identity politics. Forest, tree. D & R are both parties of war. They both use We the People to serve the oligarchy. Open mind for a different view.

If your "compassion" is defined by hatred for another group of people, then it's not compassion, it's prejudice. This is the basis of the prohibition against collective punishment and discrimination enshrined in Human Rights Laws.

timeloopbandit.bsky.social @timeloopbandit.bsky.social · 01/01/2026

Growing up in the Bible Belt, I learned that, "Even the Devil can quote scripture for his own purposes." I now understand this refers to taking facts out of context in order to create a false perception loosely based on truth. This is the art of skillful manipulation; the essence of propaganda.

Ego often rejects perspectives that are foreign, inconvenient, or uncomfortable ... regardless of how reasonable or true. Does this not explain why Jesus was rejected when he went home to teach? Pearls to swine, indeed!

Please remember that mass media propaganda was already a thing in FDR's time. Bernays' work both for corps and government (WWI Committee on Public Information w/George Creel) demonstrated its ability to influence the masses. FDR had to constrain the press to counter Fascist propaganda.

It always impresses me how skillfully narcissists blame those trying to counter, correct, or otherwise respond to their chaos and destruction. They will always make themselves the victim and their enemy/target the aggressor.

Ha! Please make up your mind. Was FDR a Capitalist/Fascist, in which case the American Fascists wouldn't want him gone, or was he a (Democratic) Socialist ... or is he just whatever you think will serve your argument? I think FDR thought winning the war would stop Fascism, not strengthen it.
010
timeloopbandit.bsky.social @timeloopbandit.bsky.social · 31/12/2025
Good point. We often forget that the American Fascists didn't want us in the war and were doing business with Hitler even after doing so was banned by FDR--something that nearly ruined the Bush family name. I love how they try to take credit for our involvement in the war now.

Why is it that oligarchs claim to "create jobs" and get the credit when unemployment is low, yet don't get the blame when unemployment is high? Again, narcissistic behavior. When Capitalists hold jobs hostage demanding lower taxes, it's somehow the government's fault for fighting for the People.
020
timeloopbandit.bsky.social @timeloopbandit.bsky.social · 31/12/2025
That's par for the course for narcissists, which all oligarchs are. Most people aren't so calculative, can't recognize the patterns, and are easily manipulated. But once you learn and understand narcissistic behavior, then you see the patterns clearer and become harder to manipulate.
010
timeloopbandit.bsky.social @timeloopbandit.bsky.social · 31/12/2025
That's an artful deflection--blaming one's enemy for your own abuses. FDR didn't sign the Fed Reserve Act and he didn't cause the Great Depression. His efforts to curb the hoarding of gold saved the US dollar from their speculative practices--a necessary step they forced and then blamed on him.

Are you suggesting that the US and Russia are allies against Ukraine now? That's the only reason the US would confirm an illegal attack by Ukraine, after all the efforts the State Dept has put into covering up their previous war crimes. Western sources are sanitized in Ukraine's favor since _< 2022.

My experience in Afghanistan showed me how easily humans can slip into barbaric depravity. Doing so is a psychological flaw inherent to us all, but doesn't mean that we are inherently inhumane. Once you understand that, it's easier to resist the dehumanization and save your own humanity.

timeloopbandit.bsky.social @timeloopbandit.bsky.social · 31/12/2025
Firstly, you're hearing what you want to hear, and not hearing what you don't. There is a difference between defending one side and challenging the propaganda of the other. But when you are psychologically attached to the propaganda of your side, any challenge is considered defending the enemy.

The New Deal may not have been a drastic turn around, but it absolutely did bring growth. That said, regulations did not change the fact that the US was still a Capitalist economy. And those regulations paid for the modernization of US infrastructure AND gave us the Middle Class.

timeloopbandit.bsky.social @timeloopbandit.bsky.social · 31/12/2025
That is a good example of the Capitalist/Fascist re-write of history. The "American Fascists", as Wallace called them, hated FDR so much that they wanted to overthrow him in 1933--while the economy was improving--to establish a Fascist Dictatorship in the US.

Every institution of government, certainly in the developed world, is helped by narcissistic psychopaths who promote systems that eroded humanity. That is why there is so little humanity in the human world. But ego always obscures our own guilt and focuses on others.

All the atrocities that we rail against are symptoms of dehumanization. By dehumanizing others, we exempt them from our conscience and morality and subsequently subject them to the very atrocities that led to the dehumanization in the first place. And that only perpetuates violence.

We're all given the option to dehumanize others--to deny their collective humanity and right to life--based on myriad factors, i.e. economics, nationalism, race, religion, etc. Whatever the excuse, as soon as we do, we become the monster we are supposedly against.

When we encounter war propaganda, and accept it, we make the enemy a monster in our mind. In reality, however, we just make a monster out of ourselves. War propaganda invites us to dehumanize others ... but doing so extinguishes our own humanity. "Love your enemies." ~Jesus--Matthew 5:44

All forms of extremism and supremacy--whether nationalist, racial, or religious--are inherently devoid of humanity. To limit one's compassion and empathy to a select group of people; to forego humility; to replace conscience with entitlement, all demonstrate a lack of humanity.

Individual humanity involves the traits of compassion, empathy, humility, integrity, respect, and selflessness. With humanity, it is possible to disagree without dehumanizing others. If you resort to dehumanizing when your beliefs are challenged, then you reject your own humanity.
