These will largely follow economic means as well. “Solve the problems of the rich!” is a common refrain for BuilderBros - meaning “help the rich jump the line…” which just hastens socio-economic divides.

TL;DR

One of my professors was one the creators of these. Based on the fact that people were many times more likely to pay a credit card bill rather than a medical bill. One being more frowned upon to ignore than the other.

This is an aside - but in so many ways, only a healthy (disease free b/c of vaccines) society allows for this kind of reckless behavior. It is like a stored wealth that anti-vaxxers get to exploit only because it exists. In short - it’s a type of the socialism they rail against.

“problem framing is a social task” is so well said.

Dear god, please don’t win it with the goal of “restoring decorum”. We’ll have plenty of time for that AFTER we utterly neutralize (let alone dismantle) the RW machine. We must be as - if not more - ruthless and cunning than they have been.

There is a distinct feeling in the pit of my stomach when I join a group solving a problem and realize no one is curious. Everyone is too self concerned to explore, and be wrong 867 times so we can be right - like really, really right - on try 868. Personally, there is nothing I enjoy more.

Hardly even tangential - I mean I almost pity her for the lack of awareness that presumes relevance in today’s world - but I’ve taken the phrase “uncredentialed organic intellectualism” from your post and am savoring it like some divinely epicurean morsel. Anyway, back to the void that is RW thought

You’d hate it. You know you would. Not the bank part, but the contrived value BS would kill you. I’m guessing. Don’t know yet, just uploaded all your posts to ChatGPT. I’ll let you know what it says.

Sounds more and more like executives are the most fitting for replacement by AI.

The best illustration I heard of this was that period film pieces are never about the period they take place in.

I think the logical, deliberate folks project far too much onto the likes of executives and mgmt. Meaning, we transfer our own motivations (doing things well, and with consideration) to those “above”. When in fact they could not be less aware, let alone concerned, about logic or intentionality.

I’m currently going through the podcast series (audio book preview) of Lights On by Annaka Harris. One chapter explored this fundamental difference - whether consciousness is emergent (result of intelligence) or fundamental (exists and is only processed by creatures). Really fascinating!

Only if “very high and rising” is relative to the cost of living. Both can be true - median income could be higher than ever in history, and still be outpaced by the cost of living. So I’m assuming “real median” references inflation adjusted and tied to a basket of costs?

Adding “library” to “asylum” and “tariff” and countless others: “You keep using that word, but I do not think it means what you think it means.” - IM (actually, can we get a super cut of Mandy Patinkin saying this in response to the dunces of this admin?)

Seeking for evidence of the veracity of the primary assumption (such as holding up the eloquent thinking of others who have held the same primary assumption) at some level indicates that the primary assumption may be in question. Which is great, though often leads where one may not want.

Whatever else they thought or did, the preamble was “Christianity is true… therefore…” If one never steps outside of dogma, if one doesn’t question the primary assumption, all and any thought and thinking will be curated and crafted to adhere to that belief. The belief was primary, the origin.

All of them were dogmatic - in the purest sense. They accepted as an immutable truth the claims of Christ, and more broadly Christianity, as primary. All subsequent thinking was made subject to the premise that Christianity was true as a foregone conclusion. They held a “belief” and all had to fit.

My question is were all of these jackboots just waiting for the administration to change so they were free to express their worst selves? Were we actually penning them in prior, but it was just beneath the surface? Probably a naive statement on my part.
