I have been interested in a photo from the Battle of the Somme. I have tried to recreate it from a different angle. It’s not exact. The last photo is the original and is quite well known. #ww1 #somme #battleofthesomme #history #militaryhistory #art #digitalart #procreate

And now for something completely different… well not that different but inspired by a beautiful walk on the Sussex Downs with my dog I thought I’d try a landscape. Tempted to put a Spitfire in the sky. #sussex #brighton #art #landscape #digitalart #terrier #dogwalk

I started reading There’s no home by Alexander Baron. It’s set in Sicily and the opening chapter is British Infantry moving into Catania at the end of the Sicily campaign. I used a well known photo for reference #ww2 #alexanderbaron #imw #classicnovel #sicily #catania #art #history

Another artist I really admire is J C Leyendecker so following the theme of copying masters I’ve had a go at one of his. I did change one of the figures. I love the geometric shapes his uses. #ww1 #leyendecker #leyendeckerstudy #art #history
