Didn't see this result coming to be honest. A bit of a wake up call after an excellent start to the season?

I was keen for us to go for Putellas (i know she doesn't really fit the MO, but it would have really been a statement of intent). She's certainly punished us today. Lionesses have built a good side.

If anyone is struggling to feel confident about the numbers, we have another example of a state funded football club to refer to. Both Man City and Newcastle, when bought by an oil state owner were not clubs that had been consistently successful winners. Neither club consistently spent record fees

Bit late, but can I just highlight again how strong Spurs Women look. What a great side they've put together. Dominating so many games.

One of my heroes as a young adult died yesterday morning. I have never seen a band more often than I've seen New Found Glory and I've never stopped listening, they are the soundtrack to a huge part of my life. I missed the chance to meet Chad years ago, so I also missed the chance to tell him how

Bought a 1 year subscription a couple of months ago on the ad free tier (I never normally buy a year and I never normally spend the extra for ad free). So I'm obviously delighted with my decision making there.

Just give Spurs Women the stadium and training ground, they are the ones who deserve it.

Not to be negative towards van Hecke... who as a favourite of the manage & his CB partner and with PL experience wasn't a bad buy... But I increasingly feel that, after years of evidence showing how good he looks & how fast he's improving, the Vuskovic sale we all hated, was indeed a bad decision.

Buses in Ibiza are, I have learned today, both wonderous and deeply frustrating creatures. If you want a comfy air conditioned coach-like experience with not only USB and USB-C ports but full blown plug sockets at your seat, you're in luck. If you want a bus which departs from the advertised stop

I honestly can't comprehend how a man so blatantly fundamentally incompetent and financially illiterate has become the President of the United States twice without being removed from power. The man is a white collar criminal and behaves so much like one is not even hidden.

You know those 5 plug adapters that are plugged into each other & are constantly everywhere throughout the year & you find when you're looking for *anything* else. Where the fuck are they when you're actually packing for holiday? Obviously I'll buy a new one & just add it to the rest when I'm home

Every 'solution' that has been tried at 10 for Spurs simply hasn't worked. In fact, they haven't even come close to working. We need to try something different... whether it's a different player or a different approach, I don't know, but this isn't it.

Why in the world have Labour not pressed ahead with tightening up the rules on political fund raising and capping donation sizes from individuals and companies.

Tim F @timbobagginses.bsky.social · 11/09/2026

I really think this is a great decision. Under Levy, when he held players to their contracts (often earning too little) I think players were incentivised not to sign, so there was an expiry date on when they're locked in, compromising commitment and maybe even leading them to leave earlier.

All that money spent and it's possible we would have been a better side with Lankshere and Vuskovic in it. I know I'm just reacting to another poor display, but the ship has to turn at some point or what are we even doing. Used that ship analogy forgetting it was one of Frank's. Not changing it.

000

Tim F @timbobagginses.bsky.social · 05/09/2026

Oh so Lankshere scored his 7th goal of the season today as well.

010

Tim F @timbobagginses.bsky.social · 05/09/2026

I'm nervous about today's game. Objectively, a team intending to reach Europe through the league should beat Forest more often than not. But it will be a tough match and our league form still hasn't improved from last season. We really really need to avoid losing our first 3. Come on lads.

020

Tim F @timbobagginses.bsky.social · 05/09/2026

Obviously we're not watching training and don't know about the fitness situation, but I would be starting Fernandes ahead of either Tonali or Gallagher to be honest.

If someone wrote a dystopian story of a future in which humanity is erased by AI depriving us of drinking water (aside from O2, one of the most fundamental requirements for life) would likely be seen as lazy, derivative, something we would prevent & sort of unlikely (computers drinking water?!).

Spectacular amount of squad turnover at Spurs this summer, including a number of players who were bought for the future & are now being sold before hitting their peak. Player trading is exciting, but my team is barely recognisable. We need some special moments to start binding players and fans.

My latest check on the madness of Twitter tells me that the new form of total shit being posted on football twitter is a picture of a player along with a totally made up AI generated quote supposedly from them. What the fuck is the point.

If Danso's priority is to leave then he should do that. But Tosin doesn't strike me as a long term plan and he's certainly not an improvement. He and Mudryk are opportunistic stop gaps.

The Last Kingdom on Netflix. If you haven't seen it you really must. Excellent TV. We're on season 5 after absolutely gorging ourselves on it. Gutted that we only have 5 episodes and the film left. www.netflix.com/gb/title/800...

Somewhat frustrating to see City gazump us on Gakpo only to them gazump us again on Ndiaye when their Gakpo move failed.

030

Tim F @timbobagginses.bsky.social · 31/08/2026

Mudryk? That's some proper nonsense.

000

Tim F @timbobagginses.bsky.social · 30/08/2026

I'd like to know, accepting subjectivity, without the bias associated with players choosing/rejecting us whether... 1. Gakpo or Ndiaye is 'better'. 2. Which player better suits us. I don't spend loads of time watching teams other than Spurs, so my knowledge on each is somewhat superficial.

Tim F @timbobagginses.bsky.social · 29/08/2026

Wasn't expecting Danso to want to go to be honest. I thought he was all in. Shame, he's a good player who seemed to get it and he's not been here all that long.

I like Tel and I'd 100% befend him and like him today. But he can't be our starting left forward for the whole season. He's just not ready yet.

130

Tim F @timbobagginses.bsky.social · 29/08/2026

Gakpo is going to City. Obviously. Why wouldn't he after seeing us shit the bed twice. I'm not being melodramatic. I am confident we'll get better. But if I were him I'd choose City too. Bugger.

The football was better but we were impotent up front and leaky/naive at the back. De Zerbi is going to have to wrangle this mob into a team fairly promptly.

Kept Wharton and dropped Alex Scott from my FPL. My limitations as an FPL player are exposed once again.

000

Tim F @timbobagginses.bsky.social · 29/08/2026

This may have been done already as the line up has been out for a while… But are we assuming Gakpo isn't & perhaps was never likely to happen since he's starting for Liverpool today? Conventional wisdom suggests you don't risk players if you're rather hoping to get a fuck tonne of cash for them.

Given that Instagram is exclusively used by millennials and Facebook is home to their right wing parents, this feels a lot like shutting the door after the horse has bolted. Maybe if TicTok, Snapchat and the rest do something meaningful there will be some progress?

You know the main thing I hate about AI (Ignoring the obvious, like the damage to careers, hoovering up water & killing the environment) It's the doubt it sews. Any piece of writing where I read 'here's the rub' or a rule of three, I automatically sniff AI. But what if it's just the author's style?

140

Tim F @timbobagginses.bsky.social · 26/08/2026

Liverpool in the 3rd round. Fiddlesticks. Not to suggest we can't win, but that's a bigger challenge than I'd hoped for at this stage. I was rather hoping we might go far in this one.

210

Tim F @timbobagginses.bsky.social · 26/08/2026

I didn't realise Goncalo Ramos had left PSG to go to AC Milan. He was a player that I'd have liked is to sign, not that it was ever remotely suggested that we had any interest.

000

Tim F @timbobagginses.bsky.social · 26/08/2026

I definitely don't want to be negative after a 5-1 win. There have been plenty of incarnations of Spurs that would labour to a 2-1 win in a game like that. So I will just say there are some very obvious positives, not least the result and some areas where we still clearly need to improve. COYS
