Baseball. I am getting an absolute ton of Baseball stuff on my Bluesky feed. I didn't ask for it, I don't open it and I mute some of it, yet still it comes. I love sports but, and don't take this the wrong way, the stuff I'm getting doesn't suggest I should be paying any attention to this one.

Could someone at Bluesky amend the algorithm and stop sending me stuff about baseball. I have shown no interest and even mute some accounts yet, still they come. I am not against baseball per se but the posts make it seem pretty dull as it goes.

I am so pleased that the word capitalism is now in common use by ordinary people as an objective social fact that requires consideration and action. I have been ridiculed for using it in this way since the dark days of Thatcher.

To everyone trashing England for Kane's ill judged golf round. Go and see what Marcus Rashford did for the kids of Manchester, during lockdown and since. In every team there are good guys, not so good, smart, not so smart. May the best team win and spare us your petty victimisations.

Recommend this film. A good story told with insight and sensitivity over a superb script. Is there a better actor - of any gender - than Ian McKellan currently practicing their craft? You know where to find me if you disagree 😘 The Christophers share.google/tJMjNLZttkMt...

Far from being a dull adventure tale about male fixations with killing animals. This book is radical, experimental, funny and deeply homoerotic. Without this Joyce would never have written Ulysses. Just my opinion. Please make up your own mind.

This makes me mad. Neither this or any other monarch has done a thing to improve access to our countryside and yet we give them credit. Wonderful amenity though.

BBC6 music radio playing Prince and Prince related stuff all day. Thank you BBC and bless the idea of public service broadcasting. Playing Sometimes it snows in April as I type and the tears are coming. Yes indeed

When the sky is right. Is there any more gothically sublime place than a ruined abbey. This is Whitby Abbey, North Yorkshire. Setting for a famous scene in Bram Stoker's Dracula

Would quite like the BBC to not begin every news bulletin, day in day out, with the words "President Trump". Especially as it then goes on to report what he has not done. We're not even American FFS.

Lee Anderson wants to ban the burqa on the grounds that 'no one should be allowed to hide their identity in public'. No more fancy dress parties, London Marathon costumes, football mascots, and on and on. Do these no marks even think before they spew this nonsense?

Ref was shit... numerous decisions wrong. Everton are thugs... Tarkowski was dangerous. Pickford tried his best to cause damage to Nunez like he did VvD. Liverpool come away with all 3 points. #LFC

Completely agree. So many original and gifted authors writing now and so many are not white males. Stand up Deborah Levy, Rachel Cusk, Barbara Kingsolver to name just a few of my favourites

I know that our American friends have some domestic issues. Our 'decision' in the UK to move away from EU and towards US is now looking a bit shortsighted. Looking forward to the BBC interview with Johnson and the other Brexit cheerleaders about this masterstroke

And while you're at it, stop reading books about habits of a CEO or 'secrets to successful business'. Pick up a novel and use it to calibrate your moral compass. 🙏

I have a method of valuing books which is quality ÷ weight. At 150 pages (about 100grms or 4oz) this one scores very highly indeed. There is no finer exploration, no keener insight of the human condition. Bravo Virginia Woolf.
