Tim Oliver @tim.dev · 30/05/2026In case anyone was wondering, you *can* swap the headbands between AirPods Max 1 and 2. Also the tip of the headbands is a tiny Lightning connector. Cute. 😆 010
Tim Oliver @tim.dev · 22/05/2026First BitSummit in 3 years! So great to be back! Also so happy to see 3DS StreetPass is still a thing. 🤣 000
Tim Oliver @tim.dev · 23/03/2026I will neither confirm nor deny the only reason I bought a new subwoofer is so I would have somewhere to put all of my RevenueCat plushies. 🙃 030
Tim Oliver @tim.dev · 26/02/2026GG. After 4 amazing years working at Instagram in Tokyo, it's finally my turn to depart. 🥲 It's been the ride of the lifetime. I'm incredibly proud to have helped bring Threads and Instagram for the iPad to life. But I'm also looking forward to a nice relaxing break. ☺️ Onwards and upwards! 🫡 1100
Tim Oliver @tim.dev · 13/01/2026Good night, sweet prince. 🥲 Anthem was the first game I tried on my shiny new Xbox in 2021. Ironically enough. After I learned it was shutting down, I decided to make it my mission to 100% its gamer score. 💪 It was a fun game. I wish EA left it somewhat playable. 🥲 110
Tim Oliver @tim.dev · 31/12/2025Also. I completely forgot to this on Jan 1st last year and spent the whole year kicking myself. 😝 Run 3DMark today to get that sweet, rare January 1st achievement! 🫡 140
Tim Oliver @tim.dev · 31/12/2025Happy New Year everyone! I hope you all had an amazing end of the year and have an action packed lineup for 2026! I have a shopping list of apps and projects I want to build this year. I can't wait to get started. And I hope you have a tonne of goals you plan to achieve as well! 030
Tim Oliver @tim.dev · 28/11/2025Happy Black Friday! I’ve been busy for the past few months redesigning iComics to align with iOS 26 (without deprecating any older versions) and finally got it out the door this week. 🎉 To celebrate, it’s free for the next 24 hours. If you like it, please consider leaving a tip. Enjoy! 042
Tim Oliver @tim.dev · 15/02/2025Happy ending. The Liquid Metal seems to be a success! And to fix all the scratching on the unit itself, I got papa dbrand to provide a nice skin for the inner part, and replacement plates for the outer part. Beautiful. 🤩 130
Tim Oliver @tim.dev · 11/02/2025True to the seller's listing, the APU on the PS5 was completely dry in the middle, explaining why it was constantly overheating. A quick refresh of the Liquid Metal and hopefully it's fixed. I mean. It still boots, but I'll have to do a proper test to see if it still overheats. XD 220
Tim Oliver @tim.dev · 11/02/2025It's a public holiday in Japan today. So I figured I'd spend it reapplying Liquid Metal to this dirt cheap PS5 I bought off Mercari. Hopefully I can't make it any worse. 😅 060
Tim Oliver @tim.dev · 24/01/2025I bought one of them Moment anamorphic lenses during the pandemic but never used it. Tokyo is so pretty that I promised myself I'd give it another try. 140
Tim Oliver @tim.dev · 22/01/2025After like 8 years of gaming, the WASD keys on my ASUS keyboard started wearing off. I contacted ASUS support, but of course they apparently don't have any replacement keys at all for this keyboard anymore. 😐 Luckily some cool (revenue) cats were able to hook me up in Singapore. 🤩 040
Tim Oliver @tim.dev · 20/01/2025I was pretty surprised/humbled/had to have a bit of a chuckle when I discovered that the Bluesky iOS client is using my open source image cropper library. Mastodon’s iOS client is also using it, so between these two and Threads, I’m apparently an active code contributor to all three platforms. 🤣 1100
Tim Oliver @tim.dev · 20/01/2025Made it safely back to Tokyo! Singapore was absolutely incredible and I'm sad it's over already. The last time I brought back some SG snacks for my team, they deleted it all in less than 2 days haha. Let's see how long these last. 🤣 I'll post more pics of the SG trip when I can! 120
Tim Oliver @tim.dev · 15/01/2025First day of iOS Conf SG 2025! It's so good to be back! 😁 Up first, Paul's running an hands-on Swift workshop where everyone pitches in to critique a sample app he provided. 🤩 It's yielded some extremely deep discussions about Swift. 😆 110
