Tested new Bun version for Vaporlens deploy to see if it's notably better. Seems like basically only in installing deps 😅 A bit whelming.
Tables comparing Node and Bun for Vaporlens deploy. bun installs ~2.5x faster and the image is ~200MB smaller, but serving is ~20% slower per request in every route tested. Worth it for CI iteration speed, not for production throughput.

I tried Qwen3.8-27B for vaporlens.app locally. It works way too good. Now I'm pondering if I should assemble a home LLM server for vaporlens lol. Full writeup: www.patreon.com/vaporlens/po...

DeepSeek's newer flash model benchmarks better than the old one across the board. I swapped it in Vaporlens and it came out costing more and running slower on every step. Spent a week figuring out why. Write-up: codezen.dev/blog/2026-08...

ggex-bench is finally finished and open source: github.com/vaporlens/gg... It’s a benchmark for testing how well LLMs can extract structured RDF/Turtle knowledge graphs from game review articles, then score those outputs against hand-authored gold graphs.

Today I've learned that supabase deploys their instances as single AMI on EC2. So you DB version and everything else is baked into that single AMI and the only way to update - is to update everything 🤦‍♂️

Schema shape matters a lot for LLM extraction. While working on ggex-bench, I found that schemas closer to how LLMs naturally summarize reviews produce better and cheaper knowledge graphs. Don't make the model fight the output format. Full writeup: codezen.dev/blog/2026-06...

Supabase support has to be one of the worst supports I've ever used. It's second week already and they still can't figure out why their own database is crashing. And they keep pointing at things that don't make sense according to their own metrics. Like dude 🤦‍♂️

Today was the day I've finally deleted Windows from my PC for good. I've switched to Kubuntu ~summer last year and I think I've booted windows exactly once. It's been surprisingly solid for both dev work (which is not that surprising), but also for gaming (that DID surprise me quite a bit tbh).

This is a really nice new Cloudflare feature: on-the-fly markdown conversion. Tools like Claude Code send an "Accept: text/markdown" header when making web requests. If you enable this it, it will send these agents a markdown version of your page instead of the full HTML. Really good for docs.

I've noticed that I've been writing less and less code (by hand) over the past ~6 months. It went from me writing most of it while occasionally letting agent create something extremely specific, to me just telling agent what to write, reading output and asking for tweaks/refactors.

npm deprecated access tokens, you now can only generate read-write token for 90 days - which means my old workflows no longer work. And if I want to use "trusted publisher" via OIDC - I can only have one workflow per package. Guess that means fuck me, I need to rewrite all my prepublish workflows? 🤦
