Setting up your 2026 budget doesn't have to be a chore. Set your budget on the Categories sheet. In the Foundation Template enter your target in the January column, and it automatically cascades through December. Plan 12 months in the time it takes to plan one.

Close the gap between spending the money and seeing that you spent it. When that gap shrinks from weeks to just a day, you’re no longer just budgeting. The spreadsheet stops being a report card on the past and becomes a map of the present. tiller.com

It feels good to make a space truly ours But we treat the core headers like Date and Amount with special care We leave those names and the Transactions tab label exactly as they are Respecting these few signposts ensures the feed connects perfectly every time

There is a distinct kind of quiet that settles in right after the holidays. It feels like the dust has finally settled. We sit down at our desks and open our spreadsheets, not to judge what happened in December, but just to see it. Often, we mistake organization for control.

It is surprisingly easy to lose track of our financial intentions. A year is a long time. Over twelve months, small habits creep in unnoticed. Subscriptions we meant to cancel stay active. Spending slowly drifts away from what we value most.

Clarity often starts with a single click. We select the header row and click the filter icon to turn down the noise. Clicking the small funnel in a column title lets us uncheck the rows that don't match our current question. We aren't changing the data, just how we see it. #PersonalFinance

We were struck by a simple story Hedreich Nichols shared with us recently. She added her son to a credit card but kept the physical card tucked away in a drawer. He never used it to buy a single thing. But while the plastic gathered dust, his credit history was quietly growing in the background.

We used to think budgeting meant saying no. It felt like a restriction on joy. But ignoring the numbers only added anxiety. Tracking replaced that fear with clarity. It’s not about what you can’t have. It’s about ensuring your spending aligns with what matters.
This graphic features a dark navy blue background with the central message "Mindful Spending Means Clarity, Not Restriction" written in large, bold white text. Below this headline is a smaller supporting sentence that reads, "Track every dollar to align your spending with what truly matters to you." The design is anchored at the bottom by the Tiller logo in white, characterized by a stylized geometric accent above the final letter.
