lol yea i used the piezo for a lot of recording and during the editing process for more and more of the mixing i ended up fighting against it, trying to somehow make it sound decent. lots of weird resonances, i think for the next time id probably just put a pillow inside the guitar

I despise piezo guitar pickup tone, but this EP makes it WAY cooler than it has any right to be. Check out the slick glitches and the the way the EP weaves its sound together. Very fun stuff from a very talented producer.

no matter how hard you try to make atonal music its gonna become accidentally tonal anyways so putting conscious effort into writing in key is kind of a waste

Four glitch tunes built around heavily edited guitar improv recordings.

001

i feel like track 1 is trying to be cool and track 2 is very fun and track 3 is very very upsetting and track 4 is about how you can compose music with notes in it hope that helps

020

itll be a bit messier than usual. well idk my music is always messy. but this is really messy. ah well. youll see

Final push. I now have enough to pay rent, electric and internet. Thank you all SO much for helping. I'm truly grateful for everyone's generosity. This is my final push for the campaign before I close it. The only goal is helping me afford groceries this month. Thanks again 💖 gofund.me/9a3b3b934

I assume you all heard about the new cat they got now

020

genuinely tho theres some sounds in that genre that are really neat

040

maybe i need to learn to make tearout dubstep. if only because it irritates some people so much.

sycra used to draw these characters where he'd always make the eyeliner connect with the eyebrow so its one big swoop

010

25 years of time and still anyone is yet to make a better plugin than dfx scrubby

the gui of dfx scrubby, the best plugin dever made

i messed around with the beta a fair bit, its a really neat plugin. very simple ui but you can do a lot of stuff with it

031

yea i mean theres a lot of shit out there. idk if i'm convinced that it's uniquely bad tbh, but i wouldn't know. i'll still need to watch jeremys video, i have a hunch ill disagree with a fair bit of it if the packaging is anything to go by

000

but yea all that being said, charging for courses is no fun, from a teacher side its super awkward too. because like, i want to be able to tell people to go watch sth i made that answers a question they asked, but i can't, because it's paywalled. it makes a lot of sharing info with people quite

but yea, these days i do actually paywall some stuff even tho it might make more financial sense for me to release it publicly.

btw there is also a whole other aspect of reasons for paywalling stuff that has little to do with all this, that has to do with social media algorithms and other factors, kind of related to how vibecoding has affected some peoples attitudes to open source software. but thats even more complicated.

120

i think people buying a course don't really just pay for the knowledge as such that is being gatekept, but very much for the time and labour involved in making the course, which is quite a lot tbh.

120

yea i mean teaching is work, doing it takes a lot of time, most people can't afford to spend a lot of time on stuff that doesn't make some money back. i mean it's for the same reasons that high school teachers need a salary too.

Here's something a bit different: I found my very first soundcloud from when I started producing about 6 years ago, so I wanted to look back on how I learned to improve & what did & didn't work: youtu.be/VG9XYBU1Ebc www.patreon.com/tildesounds/...
