"The Data Centre pop art colouring book" by a Michael Jurado. It's got a bright green and blue cover with some patterns reminiscent of circuitry on it. A little box in the corner of the cover says it's "data pop art no. 2".

Got some cakes of beeswax from @pientilabartos, which should help with my cheaper embroidery thread that loses fibres everywhere as I stitch. Also smells nice.

The AI artifacting is kind of funky, but it's absolutely wild that the camera on my front row neighbour's phone (Samsung S22 Ultra) could actually spoil the set list for last night's Vesterinen concert from like a few metres away

It's apparently #WorldCrossStitchDay, so here's where my #LongDogSamplers "Pandemic" is now. I started August 31 last year and now I'm about one quarter through. #CrossStitch #embroidery

A quite large and intricate geometric / floral design being stitched in off-white on navy blue Aida canvas. There are some animals in the design and those are being worked in a variegated pink/orange/green/yellow thread. The canvas is about 2.5 by 2.5 feet square and the design is centered on it leaving about 4 to 5 inches of space on each side.

Unlike the other year when I was in the team competition, they got the #Ropecon2026 jigsaw puzzle event results up really quickly. Anyway here's the results for the solo contest I was in. They stopped timing after 90 minutes and ranked the remainder by number of pieces assembled. (5/5 for now)

The jigsaw puzzle competition results. The top two are split seconds apart just after 60 minutes, third was at 66 minutes, and I'm in 11th place with 495/500 pieces assembled.

I don't have a picture of the puzzle minus my 5 pieces and this picture was taken upside down, but the puzzle is a picture of a mother reading to a child on her lap on a stormy evening.

Diorama base with a little roundpole fence and gate cutting across it. There's a muddy (needs drybrushing, it's supposed to be more sandy) area containing a pile of logs with a path that leads out the gate. And a tree outside the fence.
On the side, materials include some bits of bamboo chopsticks (as uncut logs), and primed but unpainted miniatures of a stump, a cow, and couple of chickens. (ok the stump is partially painted)

I'm holding a partly painted miniature of a Norse woman in a long dress and apron carrying a backpack. Some paint bottles are on the table behind it.

Some miniature traditional Scandinavian roundpole fencing made out of cocktail sticks, taped to a cutting mat. Also on the cutting mat is a sheet of foamboard on which some crumpled pieces of paper bag are taped on with masking tape. This (should) create some bumpiness in the terrain when I put texture and static grass on it. Propped up behind the mat is a sketch of a 19th century log hut, which is, like, totally way after the Viking age but I'm going for a medieval fantasy vibe here, this ain't a historical project.

I'm in a friend's (slightly messy) living room posing in a black blouse with big trumpet sleeves and a purple great kilt -style garment wrapped at a little below knee-length and the upper portion fastened over one shoulder. A semi-transparent plum purple stole is draped over my shoulders and the ends go down to the mid-thighs. The kilt is slightly more reddish than the stole.

I'm wearing a silver band-shaped bracelet with Finnish text in cursive script that says (in translation) “If you just dare to stop being afraid, you will get paradise back”. It's from a song by Marja Mattlar called "Lintu" ("The Bird"). Beside it is (surprise!) a bird with outstretched wings and very long tail feathers that are woven in a Norse-inspired knotwork design.
In this picture I'm also wearing a leather bracelet with a branching rune on it. It is made by the same artist but is Vesterinen band merch.

Sometimes I buy miniatures that my skill level doesn't deserve (at least I have absolutely zero interest in busts) I've been doing so much of those Warhammer (and Conquest) figures that these more normally sized 28mm scale feel really tiny

A 20-person unit of Jade Warriors with polearms, they basically look like medieval Chinese troops. They're wearing a sort of scale armor with red tunics, sashes, and plumes. For the photo they're arranged in a 6-6-8 formation.

Here's a better look at the chaos cultists squad. I played around with different skintones here. I'd started painting these with blue wraps when I remembered that the Firebrand was going to be Zorn palette so I made sure half of them got brown instead. #MiniaturePainting #Warhammer40K #nerdlings

Front and back views of 5 of the cultist models. They all have some kind of horned or spiked golden helmet, an 8-pointed star hanging from their belt, and are wielding both a gun and a melee weapon (cleaver, spiked club, or the one who has claws on a whole-ass mechanical arm). Most of the cultists have body modifications in the form of implanted sockets or scarring.

Rummaged in a MtG bulk bin and picked out a few that just really resonate with me right now (and then bought the "Full-Text Lands" set because they've been on my wishlist and just seemed appropriate)

Some Magic: The Gathering cards on a table. The cards are "Frazzled Editor", "University Campus", "Hard-Hitting Question", "Bury in Books", "Art Appreciation", "Spiral into Solitude", "Artistic Refusal", and "Fight On!".

There's also a set of 5 basic lands and "Thermomorphic Expanse" which have no artwork but just spells out in fully expanded detail the function of and rules for the cards. This is particularly funny juxtaposed with the Frazzled Editor card, which is a non-serious silver-bordered card. Its text box has proofreading marks that change the card text, in part, from "A card is considered to be "wordy" if it has at least 4 or more line of text." to "Something is wordy if it has four or more lines of text in its text box."

Warhammer Dark-oath Marauder figure, it's hard to tell what gender they are but they are quite buff and have spikey hair. They have a sword and shield and are wearing pants and a bit of armor too. They're holding the sword level in front of them, like ready to attack.
Behind the model are the 4 paint bottles used - Fiery Vermillion, Ironclad Grey, Sunburst Ochre, and Ivory White

5 Sisters of Silence Vigilators; they wield two-handed swords and wear plate armor and teal capes. They have shaved heads except for their topknots... or are they plumes? Do they just glue a plume to their scalp? Their leader has a helmet so it's definitely a plume there. Anyway those are also teal

The back view of the models shows that their capes have fur collars. Two have fur down the rest of their capes as well (why isn't it on the inside?? none of this makes any sense if you think about it too much) and the others have some metallic designs on their capes.
