Chapter 4 of my #kpopdemonhunters fic is finally out! Read it here: archiveofourown.org/works/678764...

Everyone woke up late again the next day, with Mystery being the last to come down around 1:30. He joined the others at the table without a word.

Rumi and Zoey were seated at the dining table, sorting through everything they had bought yesterday with the help of Romance and Baby when Mystery joined. Abby, meanwhile, was by the stove with Mira, watching very intently as she prepared lunch.

“So I guess it’s a bit late for this, but do you guys actually need to eat?” Rumi asked as she handed a few things to Romance.

“We have since we woke up last week,” Abby answered without looking over. “Which sucked, by the way.”

“It became very obvious, very quickly, that without a connection to Gwi-ma our bodies were essentially human again,” Romance elaborated. “Hunger, thirst, exhaustion, other—things,”—he cleared his throat—“It was all thrust back onto us, all at once, after centuries. Which…’sucked’ is certainly a way to put it. But it could have been much worse, all things considered, though admittedly Abby and I fared better than the other two. But at least we were able to figure ourselves out during that time, I suppose.”

Rumi and Zoey looked to the “other two” and Mystery grimaced.

“…Identifying those things is difficult when you haven’t experienced them in over eight centuries,” he said. “Baby even fainted at some point.”

The girls turned their attention to Baby.

He stiffened and quickly avoided their eyes, lowering his head to hide his own behind his bangs.

“You okay?” Zoey asked, reaching across the table to touch his hand, which he pulled away on contact.

“I’m fine,” he muttered, shoving both hands into his lap. “We don’t need to talk about it.”

Second Chances Are Often Undeserved, And Yet They're Given To Us Anyway
By: Tiggyloo
Summary:
“Wow. A ‘second chance’? That’s the best you could come up with? Please,” he scoffed. “Things like us? We don’t deserve second chances. We don’t deserve to try again. That’s not how it works. Not for demons. We all know that.”

The other boys all shifted a bit uncomfortably, but they gave small nods of agreement nonetheless.

“We don’t even have our own souls,” Abby said, eyes off to the side.

“You shouldn’t let that stop you from living a better life,” Rumi said. “You have the chance for something more, an opportunity to be better, so you should take it. Don’t let this pass you by.”

Baby scoffed again and crossed his arms. “It’ll be a waste of all our time.”

“Well, even if it is, then at least you can say that you tried."

Chapter 4 of my #kpopdemonhunters fic coming out this weekend finally

Baby stared at her, eyebrows raised. “Why are you being so specific?”
“The way you pronounce some things, it’s similar to how my mom pronounces things,” Zoey explained. “And my mom was taught by an American from the East Coast.”
“How do you know how I pronounce things?”
“You were muttering about your phone earlier,” Zoey stated casually. “You mutter to yourself in English.”
“I do?” Baby asked the other boys.
“You do,” the other boys replied in unison.
“…What the fuck.”
“You just did it again,” Zoey said, followed by a little giggle when Baby gave her an annoyed look.
“Okay, whatever, yes. I was taught English by an American. Her name was Amelia,” Baby finally answered. “She taught a lot of demons English after she showed up. Kept her sane. She said she was from, um…”—he scratched the back of his head—“It was definitely America.”
“Connecticut,” Mystery supplied. “She said she was from Connecticut.”

I got this little Mystery today! The vendor also had Romance and the girls and I wish I could have gotten all of them but sadly that would've been 100 dollars. Oof. So I ended up just getting Misty

Ah, didn't post these wips here I guess? #BabyRumi (using that tag like it actually exists lol) and #rujinu wips but it's my dumb #neopets "au". Will probably redo the Rujinu one though I'm not really feeling it. #KpopDemonHunters

I found the infamous The Tiger Poster at the thrift store today, along with an additional 16 other zoo- magazines, so that's cool! I also found a stand to the 1989 Franklin Mint "treasure of carousel art" and now I need to go back to the store every day until the animals are put out.
