Primary color scheme; lots of the yellow-orange-red-brown spectrum that's common in the era. Haircut is banal as well (there's a bathhouse/barbershop in the palace and he goes there like everyone else). This was an old sketch on reclaimed paper I decided to finish. Kinda wanna do a cleaner one now

I draw Ìmirin fairly often, less so his other half, young, progressive King Musekali (full title in alt). A prankster/lazybones as a kid, he started studying politics seriously out of love, and is a well-liked and approachable ruler (of a fairly small country). #art #traditionalart #OC

This Ímirin, the character I had up for Artfight. Highwayman turned the King's advisor and consort; both friendly wandering hero and political scholar, haunted by his past and making the most of the second chance he got. I just think he's neat

I have to say, like... Since I finished uni, I'm feeling the pressure to be better at art even more. I need to get comms so I'm sooo hesitant to just go ahead and post when I'm unsure of something I made. I guess I'm just in a weird headspace at the mo. Just very drained.

Since I've gone and got my masters and all, rewarded myself with my dream palette instead of lugging several. Mostly Gansai Tanbi, but the skin tones are Sennelier, Royal talens, + a home mix. Continuing in my redesign series! I did this one a little bit ago but never posted it. This character went through... a lot, originally with a Japanese theme but then I rewrote her backstory as coming from another dimension. I had been wanting to give her alien features at some point, now it's done!
