Slow was the magic word in September and still appears to be! But I'm hoping to wrap up this drawing in the next few days.

I'm back! And am easing myself back into things. The first day back to "reality" is always rough for me. But I will survive!

A wee bit of progress to start the week.

Tiffany Makes Art @tiffanymakesart.bsky.social · 20/09/2026

I hope you all had a good week and weekend. I had a fun weekend! And now it's almost Monday again. It's feeling like fall here and since it's almost the end of September (how??) I decided to decorate for Halloween. Have a great week!

TGIF! We made it! I've been contemplating whether to go back to 4x6 or 5x7 drawings. I love the challenge and detail I can do in a bigger drawing, but it's taking me so long! Are you getting bored? Please let me know if you would prefer smaller, quicker drawings or larger, slower ones.

I'm working on my massive thumb this morning. It seems really flat right now, so hopefully I'll be able to give it some shape. There are still many layers to go, so there's still hope!

Happy Humpday! The hand is coming together! It's funny how fast a hand emerges compared to the can. I love making progress.

Tiffany Makes Art @tiffanymakesart.bsky.social · 14/09/2026

Good morning! It's supposed to be a rainy day, which I am very much looking forward too. The day doesn't need to be bright and shiny on a Monday.

Tiffany Makes Art @tiffanymakesart.bsky.social · 13/09/2026

I saw @klairelockheart.bsky.social 's work in the wild today! It's cool to see work from an artist I follow.

Happy Friday! Just smoothing left to do and then onto the hand! Have a wonderful weekend!

Tiffany Makes Art @tiffanymakesart.bsky.social · 10/09/2026

The can is slowly getting there! And then I have the final smoothing layers to do. Amazingly, it's not bothering me how long it's taking for this drawing. Normally I'm anxious and ready to move on at this point.

I wanted to point out that this is the exclusive print for September's snail mail club! See what I did there? If you want to join, the link for my Patreon is in my pinned post!

Back to my morning drawing sessions. I love the mornings because they feel like my own before my day job takes over my day. And then recovering from the shift in the evenings. I am grateful to have a job. I would love to make a living from art, but that doesn't seem to be in the cards.

010

Tiffany Makes Art @tiffanymakesart.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

I promise I'm still here! I did a little puppy-sitting last week. We should be back to our regularly scheduled programing tomorrow. I also supported my local library and indie bookstore. Yay!

021

Tiffany Makes Art @tiffanymakesart.bsky.social · 01/09/2026

Oops, I overslept this morning! Apparently I was tired. No picture of my drawing progress today since all I did was smooth out some shading. Have a great day!

Tiffany Makes Art @tiffanymakesart.bsky.social · 31/08/2026

And suddenly it's Monday again. It's crazy how fast it keeps coming around. One of these days, I need to start cutting back on Mt. Dew, but today is not that day!

As seen today in a used bookstore in Williamsburg, Virginia. I’m sad my time at the Eisenhower Presidential Library ended the way it did, but Ike will always be an inspiration to me. The clowns who fired me would do well to read up on Eisenhower. Assuming they even know how to read.

This color photo shows a laminated image of General Dwight D. Eisenhower with his famous “don’t join the book burners” quote.

I hope you're having a great weekend! This can is taking longer than I expected, but it is what it is. It'll get done soon and then onto the hand!

Indy and I only have a day and a half of vacation left. Why does free time go by so fast?

Tiffany Makes Art @tiffanymakesart.bsky.social · 26/08/2026

Proof of life! After a fun birthday weekend, I'm back to my normal shenanigans. Not quite back to reality as I have the rest of the week off of work. Yay! But that means doing some chores too. Boo.

010

Tiffany Makes Art @tiffanymakesart.bsky.social · 25/08/2026

I've had a bit of a break from social media, but I'm back home and will go back to regularly scheduled programming probably tomorrow. I have some chores to do today, if I have the energy.

010

Tiffany Makes Art @tiffanymakesart.bsky.social · 21/08/2026

Today is the best Friday! I have next week off from my day job. I can't wait! Hopefully that means more progress on this drawing. But time off goes so fast, so we'll see. Have a great weekend!

Cheers! The base colors and values are blocked in on the can. Yay!

So much of life is spent "in progress" so we may as well enjoy the ride!

106 years ago today-Aug. 18, 1920-the Nineteenth Amendment was ratified, granting women the right to vote. While this was a major accomplishment, the Amendment did not remove voting barriers for women of color. That was not fully achieved until the Voting Rights Act of 1965. Image: Public domain.

This black and white photo shows two women holding a large sign reading "Votes for Women."

It's been a long week already! Indy agrees!

This is the first time I've been back in my "studio" for a couple days. And it was only so I could snap a couple pictures to feed the algorithm. I helped with some yard work yesterday and am sore and tired today. Because I'm old. I'll be back with some progress tomorrow. Have a great week!

011

Tiffany Makes Art @tiffanymakesart.bsky.social · 14/08/2026

The truth is out there. I'm starting on the first layers on the can. Could anything be scarier?

010

Tiffany Makes Art @tiffanymakesart.bsky.social · 13/08/2026

I finished the top of the pop can yesterday! Well pretty much. And now I wait for my new work laptop to come sometime this morning. It was nice getting an unexpected break from work. But back to reality.

010

Tiffany Makes Art @tiffanymakesart.bsky.social · 12/08/2026

Good Morning! I have an unexpected day off because my work computer decided I was working too hard and died. Hopefully I can make the most of the day!

Back to my supersized Crushing It drawing. It's Tuesday, which means Florence Given had a new podcast episode, so I decided to draw a bit while I listened. She's so inspiring, if a little woowoo. I feel so much better after I listen to her and then forget what she said the rest of the week. Lol.

Tiffany Makes Art @tiffanymakesart.bsky.social · 10/08/2026

I'm taking the approach of doing what I feel like this week. I feel like I've been putting so much pressure on myself to grow my audience and succeed that I just need a break from it all. Hopefully, it'll help me feel better.

Tiffany Makes Art @tiffanymakesart.bsky.social · 09/08/2026

The bedazzled picture is done for my sister! This is not an original. It's a kit I got since it looks so much like my furry nephew. I wanted to get it done by the end of summer and I had some weeks to spare!

010

Tiffany Makes Art @tiffanymakesart.bsky.social · 09/08/2026

I finished my first hand drawing commission this week! I'm not a particularly religious person, so I wouldn't have done this on my own. I really like how it turned out, though. If you're interested in ordering a hand or pet portrait commission from me, let me know! Have a great week!

011

Tiffany Makes Art @tiffanymakesart.bsky.social · 08/08/2026

Locked in to finish the drawing today. And a list of chores...

000

Tiffany Makes Art @tiffanymakesart.bsky.social · 07/08/2026

I'm also almost done with the bedazzled picture kit of a dog that looks really similar to my furry nephew. I need to make space to work on my Lego set backlog!

020

Tiffany Makes Art @tiffanymakesart.bsky.social · 07/08/2026

Happy Friday! I just love putting down the final layers of a drawing. It makes the ugly stage, which is basically the bulk of the drawing process, worth it. Have a great weekend!

010

Tiffany Makes Art @tiffanymakesart.bsky.social · 06/08/2026

The end is in sight for this drawing! I could have had it done if I worked longer on it each morning. But for some reason, I couldn't. It will get done this weekend, though.

030

Tiffany Makes Art @tiffanymakesart.bsky.social · 05/08/2026

Not too many more layers to go! Barring any unforseen circumstances, I should get it done this weekend. This is my first hand commission, so if you don't want a pet portrait, this is another option! Tasteful requests only. 😀

Tiffany Makes Art @tiffanymakesart.bsky.social · 04/08/2026

Good Morning! The fingers no longer look like sausages. Whew!

We're somehow in August which means a new month for the snail mail club! Have you signed up yet?

000

Tiffany Makes Art @tiffanymakesart.bsky.social · 03/08/2026

I did not want to get out of bed this morning! But I did and I made some progress on the drawing. There are still lots of layers left, but it's taking shape.

000

Tiffany Makes Art @tiffanymakesart.bsky.social · 02/08/2026

Happy Sunday, everyone! This is a very short weekly update because I don't feel like I accomplished much this week! But as I always say, slow progress is still progress. With that being said, I'm hoping to get this drawing done by the end of the week. Have a great week!

000

Tiffany Makes Art @tiffanymakesart.bsky.social · 31/07/2026

Happy Friday! I'm feeling slightly better about the drawing now that the first layers are done. But the fingers currently look like sausages. Hopefully they'll start looking better the more layers I do. Have a good day!
