I can't see YOU CAN SEE EVERYTHING sooner than next week so I'm absolutely fiending right now
Still from the 1993 film DAZED AND CONFUSED. High school stoner Slater (played by Rory Cochrane) sits cross-legged on top of a desk on the last day of school, helping a friend resin-seal a wooden bong they made in shop class.

Slater's quote from the movie is repurposed to make a YOU CAN SEE EVERYTHING meme: "Man I ain’t believing that shit about people watching that 3 hour Lance Oppenheim/Nathan Fielder documentary, man. Three hours about Elizabeth Holmes? You couldn’t handle that shit on strong acid, man."

This low-key shade on the board game hobby also accurately depicts the board game hobby, which made me chuckle
Quote from the Bloomberg article "Young Men Who Helped Get Trump Elected Are ‘Blackpilling’ Out of Politics" written in October 2026 by Jeff Green:

“I don’t see it going any other way besides violence,” [a blackpilled white dude who voted three times for Trump at a board game store] says, surveying nearby tables filled with people rolling 20-sided dice and moving game pieces across elaborate boards."

This is a mashup of my Hooters costume with some devil ears and I was probably wearing a faux fur vest because I was everythingcore back then
Me in profile in the middle of a dance floor at the former Trevi Lounge in Fairfield, Connecticut. It's mostly dark except lit by moving globe lights shooting beams of green and purple light across the space. The green light lens flares behind me so you can see my hand holding a wireless mic, my face, my hair, and the devil horn headband I'm wearing. It's a cool-ass arty pic that is now my cover photo on my Flickr and Fetlife pages. (Did you hear that you can now upload cover photos on Fetlife? Well, you can. And most cover pics are trash but mine is a banger).

Vintage October when my then-girlfriend rented a space in midtown NYC for all-day Halloween special effects makeup for clients. It was late & we weren't going to go due to exhaustion, but spun this look up last minute; I spent $20 dollars total for the outfit at a Spirit Halloween around the corner
Photo of me in a white stretch mini dress with tulle skirt, black tights, and Jessica Simpson red platform strappy heels. I'm wearing a cheap black and red feathered 80's mullet wig. My dress is coated in airbrushed red "blood" down the front and my chest is airbrushed to look like it's showing exposed ribs and part of my heart. I wear a black leather bomber jacket. Half my face is airbrushed with 80's contoured music video looks; the other half is a black and white skeleton/skull effect.

Costumery thread from my past/present Halloween seasons
Halloween promo pic. I have a glam makeover including dramatic blue eyeshadow and full red wet lips. I'm standing in front of a black background wearing a black stretchy nurse minidress costume with a white cross on the thigh, and 6-inch strappy black platform heels. I have a red toy stethoscope around my neck and holding up the heartbeat-taking end in my right hand. In my left hand I'm holding an orange plastic bucket with a jack-o-lantern face on the side.

He listens to different ones but every single show sounds identical to each another. Same camera angles, same music stingers, same kayfabed conflicts, same spoon-fed summary repetitions of a scene or dialogue as you reenter from a commercial break
"It reminds me of reality shows, which also have had the same style guide and beats and syntax for 30+ years, and each one apes the others, so to me every single show looks the same to me even if it's "revolutionary" like The Traitors or something." - screenshot of a past skeet of mine from April 2026

Jack Gilpin and Sue "Su Tissue" McLane in a scene from SOMETHING WILD (1986). They each wear tiny uncle sam paper hats and have "HELLO MY NAME IS" name badges. They are at a high school reunion. Above them are red, white, and blue balloons and streamers hanging from the ceiling.

I loved Papyria. Fun ultra-tactical game with a rondel and sweet neoprene mat that fits in the standard sized box for a change!
Close up of the board game Papyria during a 3p game in progress. The neoprene mat depicts the Tigris and Euphrates rivers and surrounding riverbanks as a long oval - aka the core rondel mechanic of the game.

The board is extremely busy with bits stacked all over it. Piles of square landscape tiles and smaller square endgame tiles; several areas with groups of building meeples; stacks of shield-shaped scoring tokens.

Our player pieces are both wanderers (meeples with walking sticks) and ships. The neoprene mat has cutout slots in it for some of the tiles and for the meeples as they circle the board.

Target on 225th St in the Bronx/Marble Hill permits ICE to use their parking lots as a staging area. Oct 5th letter from (8) area Bx City Council Members requesting leaseholder to disclose who authorizes ICE use of these (private) lots & demanding they withdraw ICE's permission immediately.
ATTN: PAUL TRAVIS
As Managing Partner for KINGSBRIDGE ASSOCIATES, LLC
675 Third Avenue, New York, NY 10017
Transmitted via electronic mail on October 5, 2026

Dear Kingsbridge Associates,
We write as elected officials representing the West Bronx regarding reports and increasing sightings of US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) using the parking lot at Target’s 40 W. 225th Street
location as a staging area for immigration enforcement activity.

REQUEST: We request a response confirming whether Kingsbridge Associates LLC, Target or another controlling entity has authorized ICE’s use of the property. If authorization has been granted, we urge the responsible entity to immediately withdraw or terminate that authorization and take measures to prohibit ICE from using the parking lot for staging, absent access required by law.

Our communities are outraged. In April of this year, more than 50 residents from the Bronx, Upper Manhattan, and Westchester wrote to Target calling on the company to end cooperation with ICE and establish protections against immigration enforcement on Target property.

This is private property operated by or for Target, where
our neighbors shop, work, and bring their families. In a borough home to hundreds of thousands of immigrants, our residents should not have to fear that their neighborhood shops are being used as a staging ground for immigration enforcement.

We respectfully request a written response by October 31, 2026.

Unattributed quote post with scant context, but it appears to be from the Financial Times in late September or early October 2026:

"But in recent months, as U.S. approval for Carlyle's bid stalled, a different group emerged as the leading bidder: one led by Mr. Boehly, a billionaire supporter of Mr. Trump's, alongside well-connected figures in the Middle East and the U.S. government itself. The members of the partnership were reported last week by The Financial Times.

Mr. Boehly is a co-owner of the Los Angeles Dodgers and donated $1 million to MAGA Inc., the Trump-aligned political committee, in December 2025. He gave another $1 million through his investment firm, Eldridge Industries, to Mr. Trump's inauguration."

The look & style reminds me of Rinse Dream's 80's arthouse porn like Café Flesh, Dr. Caligari, Nightdreams, & Party Doll A Go-Go. Like a lot of early MTV it was hypersexualized, but the "She's a Beauty" video worked in some niche/kink references (such as the domme "safety bar" in the carnival ride
Movie poster for Nightdreams (1981), directed by Stephen Sayadian (under the stage name Rinse Dream). Image is of blonde actress Dorothy LeMay wearing white lingerie, white thigh high stockings, and white heels while sitting on a medical office padded reclining chair with her back twisted and facing away from us, while she stares up at a floating, disembodied eyeball. VHS cover image for the film Café Flesh (1982), directed by Stephen Sayadian (under the stage name Rinse Dream). We see actress Michelle Bauer (under the stage name Pia Snow) posing in profile wearing a black and white striped corset and thigh high latex boots. Her left hand is crooked and on her hip. Her right hand covers her breasts. She looks up, eyes closed, mouth open in a look of ecstacy.

Behind her is a gunmetal riveted doorway, open to three figures backlit and in dry ice smoke with white painted faces and top hats/bowler hats. They are mildly reminiscent of The Strangers who live underground and "tune" the city in the film DARK CITY. Cover image is of actress Madeleine Reynal wearing a tight pink minidress and holding a syringe in her right hand. From the Garbage Day newsletter (Sept 28, 2026): "Why 'Choosin' Texas' doesn't feel like a hit"

"The consensus has been that algorithmic filter bubbles have locked us off from each other, which is why the highest echelons of pop music feel so stale. But what’s actually happened is that Silicon Valley created a new, worse version of popularity that everyone just accepted at face value at some point between 2019-2023. And while everyone was moving over to social platforms to chase this new worthless form of popularity, the levers that used to run the world became the personal sandboxes of the ultra-wealthy. A hit like “Choosin’ Texas” is not just a case of Spotify playlists inventing a pop song out of thin air. The record labels, radio stations, and TV channels of the old world devolved into fiefdoms of the already established and already famous, and, of course, their friends and children. “Choosin’ Texas” was co-written by Miranda Lambert, who been working with [singer Ella] Langley for years."

James, you keep saying "tech bro stereotype" when it's not just tech bros, and also not just a stereotype
From the Wired article: "Why No One Wants to Date Tech Bros" by Elena Klein:

"James, the Tesla employee, confesses that he embodies plenty of tech bro stereotypes that might work against him, including “paying too much in rent” (or “just generally gentrifying”), ordering most of his meals on DoorDash (“I suck at cooking”), and not “really contributing to the culture of the city that much.”"

This shot/chaser lede by the writer is outstanding
Opening paragraph from the Wired article "Why No One Wants to Date Tech Bros" by Elana Klein:

"Engaged in a flirtatious conversation at a bar in Manhattan, 23-year-old Gary stood with a Guinness in hand as he explained to a woman why he took an engineering job at Palantir, the data analytics company cofounded by Alex Karp and Peter Thiel. Raking in a $250,000 salary would allow him to help pay off his parents’ mounting medical bills, he explained."Devastating punchline to the opening paragraph of by Elana Klein's Wired article "Why No One Wants to Date Tech Bros"

"Gary has resorted to saying he works in AI. “Even that gets some pretty bad responses sometimes,” he says. His Hinge profile doesn’t mention his employer. And sometimes he makes up stories out of thin air to justify working for Palantir—like that line about the medical debt. His parents don’t have any, nor are they ill."

Ah, the halcyon days of dating a tech bro when their biggest relationship transgressions were staying up late + not showering
From the Wired article "Why No One Wants to Date Tech Bros" by Elana Klein:

"When 28-year-old Helen was an undergraduate at Stanford from 2016 to 2020, she viewed men in tech as guys who “stay up late and maybe have bad hygiene.” But her feelings toward them have gotten even worse over time as she’s questioned the industry’s overall impact."

Too many are fascinated with what fascists do w/their consolidated wealth + power, wholly incurious about reporting potential consequences of that misuse of $$$ + power, or how to prevent it. It's like watching the Death Star creep into Yavin 4 range saying "welp you gotta hand it to the Empire"

There's always a full-ass epic story behind a Citibike on the NYC subway
A Citibike lies on its side on an MTA 1 train subway car. An atm is outstretched in the frame aka the culprit who let it slump to the floor of the cat.

This subway car is of the oldies with soon to be retired orange molded seats.

High glam makeuo tonight for GORGEOUS! 💖
Smiline selfie of me with jet black shoulder length wavy brunette hair and a high glam makeover. Pink cheekbones, contouring, full red lip, the works.

I am wearing a sleeveless leopard print Michael Kors dress I got for twenty bucks on Ebay and a separate black tulle shrug that is just long arm sleeves.

I look smashing 💖

It's 2026 & I'm trying to cancel a zombie subscription & they want me to CALL THEM to reup at a discount haha no thanks
Note from a magazine thirsty to keep me but not so thirsty that I can go to their website to renew at the discount myself: "Call us today to renew at 50% off and keep your access uninterrupted."
