Crazy that Anthropic said in their IPO that AI may post an existential threat to humanity.

So when I was a kid trick or treating was always at night, and it dawned on me that DST happened the last Sunday of October before 2007, so our Halloweens were always darker and felt darker because the hour had just gone back. Now it happens in November, sun sets later.

Watched the first three episodes of American Horror Story 13. Jessica Lange being back is such a treat.

Also, to be clear, the sound I was hearing was that shrill beep to replace the battery -- I wasn't in a fire or anything.

I fell asleep listening to some thunder storm ASMR video and I woke up to these odd beeping, and my first thought when being woken up was "Who the fuck makes a dead fire alarm battery ASMR?" and turned the video off...only to hear the beep as I tried to fall back to sleep. It was my fire alarm.

This episode of Star Trek Strange New Worlds is putting all their furry species in the background.

Battlestar Galactica is a show I wish I could watch again without knowing anything. It has some amazing moments of tension with incredible acting. I love this scene between Adama and Cain, and I really wish there had been more like it. www.youtube.com/watch?v=J4Po...

Women are awesome, they are more than welcome in furry spaces, and you’re not being cute acting like a vagina is a monster that’s going to eat you. Just respect people and be fucking nice. I don’t understand how this is such a hard concept for people but he better.

DC Embracing their shared universe across movie and shows with Lanterns referencing the recent Superman movies with cameos. Marvel has messed this up at nearly every step of the way and DC did it better with Lanterns.

Strange New Worlds this season has done some awesome things in Trek.We got a haunted horror ship, a black and white noir episode, the puppet episode, a great “the ship is fucked,” episode, the episode with werewolves and dragons, the morality episode, etc. its a shame the series is almost over. :(

It’s actually raining. I know this isn’t a big deal but after solid months of just oppressive heat and sun, a storm is a welcome diversion!

Aniimo has some freaking cute designs. I love how there can be different elements of the same aniimo and they look different, and there’s still other look modifiers.

I don't understand who WoW:Forever is targetting. Classic players who want something new? But doesn't that diverge from what Classic is? The old assets with the new lighting is a choice. Also another elf species? Its not for me but no smoke on anyone who is thrilled with it.

Huh. So Star Trek now has werewolves and they have tails. Thats two for two.

I see people wondering why the rings in Lantern can run out of energy like an old cell phone and it’s not explained. The power batteries are a feature, not a flaw. The Guardians lost control of the Manhunters so they designed the rings to always need a recharge. It’s a leash.

Its surreal to me that so many people in this fandom were born after 9/11. I wasn't very old myself when it happened but I was just a kid, and watching the Towers fall on live TV was...just surreal. To think that it exists not as a memory but as a page in history.

Finished Blood of the Dawnwalker last night (have many more endings to see) and overall I liked it. Fantastic writing and atmosphere/world building. Combat was a bit bland as it doesn’t really change much but it wasn’t terrible. Also that after credits scene.

The Talisman, By Stephen King and Peter Straub, was one of the first books that ever grabbed me. It was the first book to make me cry and laugh out loud. The third book is finally coming out (the Talisman came out in the early 80s!) and the new cover is just beautiful. Can't wait for the third book.
