Progress for the #gbjam14 game jam. Need to work out why you don't die immediately in the pit of spikes, needs enemies to fight, a game over/reset screen but progress.

Content warning: pet loss. Despite my last post being happy, i am not. It's been just over a month since we lost our boy Andromeda and it hurts. Especially when i hear a sound that sounds like his meows. Every time i have to stop and pause. I know he's gone but I'd give everything for him to be back

Trying to inject some whimsy into my house because this year has been shite. Very work in progress.

Well this is beautiful. Finally picked up a copy of Hello Sunshine by @keezyyoung.bsky.social. no spoilers here, but the story wrenched at me. Especially as someone who has struggled, not to this extent, with the ol' brain wrinkles being a dick. Lovely style lovely story.

Photograph of the front cover of the book hello sunshine by keezy young. The book depicts a flower field with one character sleeping amongst them whilst 4 others, and a dog, stand further back looking worried. The book is placed on a green floral patterned bed spread.

So happy with the result of this. The bag is complete!! Embroidered and mainly sewn by myself but massive thankyou to my wonderful partner.

Photo of a bag made from black denim. Embroidered with moss, a trans flag, and stars in green. The bag has a pyramid spike sewn to the bottom to add shape.

Moss! Moss! Moss! I can now cast fire ball by pulling a lighter out of that pocket. Looking forward to when this bag is finished.

Photo of a rectangle of black denim that has been embroidered with many French knots to look like moss. In the middle there is a small pocket, for a lighter that has neon green stars embroidered on it.

I'm making myself a bag, with my lovely partners help. And I figured I'd embroider some the panels. :) loving it so far, more to go.

A photo of a black denim rectangle that has. Even embroidered. It has some green and yellow textured stitches to look like moss and a trans flag in straight stitches.

ooo for fun games that make you go "oh no! it has layers!". check out Uncle Chops Rocket Shop. Charming visuals and wonderfully tactile mechanics.

screenshot from the game Uncle Chops Rocket Shop. It's drawn in a cartoony style. In the picture are 2 characters in front of a science fiction truck. It looks like a 1950s truck converted to hover. The left hand character has a fox head and is topless with tattoos and jorts. The right character is a semi translucent slug like creature. The slug creature is saying "How many toilets you got? Better be two. I'm gonna make two toilets' worth of poop."

What's this two posts in one evening? And of course it's food. Same dough as the garlic bread also makes a lovely loaf.

Photo of a round loaf of bread. It's a light brown in colour with a cross cut in the middle for expansion. Round ridges circle the loaf from where it sat in the floored Banaton. The loaf sits on the cooking tray, happily singing the breadsong.

The world is forever on fire so fuck it. I made garlic bread.

A photo of some knotted garlic bread. The dough has been stuffed with garlic bread and twisted into knots. The tops are crispy from the olive oil coating. The bread sits Ona cooling rack on top of a wooden counter top.

OK it's early so this is an odd niche detail about life I noticed. So the image below is of some train seats. I noticed that the seat, furthest away, had the most wear on it's arm rest and wondered why that is. Now I'm thinking it's bags but why that rest and not the other...

A picture of some Grey and green train seats. The seats are arranged facing away from the camera and are set to be in rows along the train.

If you see this post an image from your phone without explaining. (Which is good because I'm not explaining that)

Screenshot of a bbc news article. The title reads "faces made of living skin make robots smile" the picture is of a circular pink blob. Vaguely reminiscent of Thomas the tank engine being birthed from a cloning vat.

game dev progress for the day. (it's saturday so i guess it's also #screenshotsaturday) more progress on creating procedural level generation. Uses a level generator and then a list of Carver nodes that can contain their own functionality inherited from an abstract base. 1/?

Today's programming error. Simple misunderstanding between ref and value types. spent ages digging through other sections before a random spark said. "Hey Thyme, ever thought your buffer object might just be a reference to your original thus fucking with your function?" and lo it was.

a screenshot of vs code with a comment and line of code below. The comment reads "hey remember that if you don't clone your object you will likely get edits to the original as well as your buffer" and the code reads Color[,] colorGridBuffer = mapColourGrid.Clone() as Color[,];

Feel like Jusant is going to hold a special place in my heart for me. The worldbuilding is on point and the climbing is smooth while still feeling involved. A very well executed game.

a screenshot of the game Jusant. The main character, wearing a tassled cape, is in front of a beige rocky background. They are holding a blue blob like creature, called the Ballast. They are wearing a blue gemstone pendant and have a blue lightning stripe tattoo on their cheek.

omg... I've drawn things I actually like.. what is this. This has been part of a "study" of Bear and Breakfast with a lot of colour picked from screenshots. I'm trying to develop a style for my game art.
