i will just never ever find the struggles of being an incredibly famous privileged recognisable figure to be interesting enough for music. its not interesting songwriting, and especially in an album like brat which has some really solid songs it feels like a shitty inclusion.

on one hand you have very unapologetic, almost "bitchy" self-assured songs which i love! i love when women take up space and i love when women write songs that are kind of abrasive in doing that. on the other hand you have these super personal introspective songs which are amazing to listen to!

in terms of the sound of the original album, i really like it! there's a lot of great tracks on it. most of them have become like instant favs for me and serve to continue to reinforce my love of hyperpop. lyrically, however, i'm left feeling confused and a bit jostled.
