I always wished 'Dinosaurs for Hire' (Genesis) was better assembled/given more time because it felt like it had heart, though co-op was horrific. I wish more people knew of it and it's bizarre badness! Vlakorados (FF7) is one of my favorite romanizations. Aquilops or Minme for meat space dinos.

Wanted better data, so I passed a picture of my hands around to my circle: Some struggled with the cursive and quick cursive. More struggled with Stab, with complete overlap. It seems like people struggle according to spacing, especially, and with narrow differentiation ('minimum' as an example)

I was digging this picture up for unrelated reasons, and it struck me both how much I love it and how "bad" it is while yet being perfect. I never noticed the wobbly lines in it because it just never mattered to the effect it had. I can't imagine anyone looking at this and being "it's so ugly"

Not just: the ingredients on the right is just incorrect: it doesn't even list any of the milk products in it, notably. And they don't fortify corn in the UK like they do the US. I was briefly very excited at the prospect of being able to have Cheetos (milk protein allergy).

I use my game design stuff as a framework for lots of things. And it shares a universe/schema with my books. Which means that any time I doodle or make something I'm working on both. A funny conversation idea, a neat shape turned into a monster, a spilled drink turning into a map, kupo!

#RandomGameSaturday was the first import title I bought, originally as a study game! I love the Wizardry series and I thought "small game, no Kanji to start out..." And this is how I came to understand the importance/purpose of Kanji.

Favorite Game - Phantasy Star 4
Best Story - Final Fantasy Tactics
Favorite Art Style - Fantasy General (The "parchment sketches" of all the characters). Amano and Yoshida right up there, but FF gets plenty of rep.
Biggest Personal Impact - Sonic 2. Speedrunning and community saved my life.
Best Combat: Final Fantasy 12. Gambits, yo.
Overhated: Brawl had issues. SSE is phenomenal.
Underrated: Altered Beast did a lot of good, was really early, and was a great arcade port. But I *was* blown away the first time I played on a cabinet, too!
Overrated: Mass Effect. It's Starflight but with guns for people with short attention spans.
Needs a Remake - Dark Cloud. Or a real sequel.
Criminally Overlooked - Monster Rancher 2.
Favorite Protagonist - Wild ARMs. Rudy, especially. Holy shit the twist. Up there for best story, but goes here.
Favorite Antagonist - Chaos Legion. LIterally named myself after the pretty bastard.
Best Soundtrack - Ultima Exodus. Specifically, the soundtrack stands out well over the game. Lots of contenders here, and this was the only one *not* on the Genesis (or aping it), really.
Best Multiplayer - PSO almost took art style, turn my brain off, and Everyone Should Play.
Not Usually My Thing, But… - Shmups don't usually do it for me, but 4p chaotic over-powered levelling system with a bumpin' soundtrack? Fuck yeah.
Turn My Brain Off - SotN is comfort food, and I've beaten it while fiercely intoxicated and, separately, while having sex the entire time.
Best With Friends - Dark Legacy is amazing, both at home and on cabinet. Those moments where the group suddenly syncs up and everyone's just hive-minding are fucking amazing, especially after bumping into each other a ton to start out.
Best Retro Game - Miracle Warriors impressed me, as an SMS title. Also fascinating how they got around technical limitations.
Nostalgia - Castle of the Winds is so neat. Worth a look for most.
Everyone Should Play - Quest for Glory has so many ideas…

Colors are really hard for me, and I have Tritanomaly on top of that. Interestingly, did better with my glasses than without (I have rose tinted glasses) Sharing because I think that's a fantastically positive message to include for a score that definitely feels like I failed.
